That's just rediculous. Stupid VUG and their "monthly' revenues. Don't they know that there are many like myself who don't care about MMORPG. I don't see the fun in those games. Get the game outn already. You think they would release them both at the same time? I Think that would be the best business decision fro them. Who would have thought that the delay would be from another game that has no relavance to HL2.

i wasn't saying that the delay was W.O.W. related...
but financial reasons are not pushing them to rush a release. the losses reported where only for the first half of the year, and it really only equates to 9m Euros, which really isn't that much.

i work for a hardware manufacturer, who has direct ties to HL2, but am not in the loop on all the info. Only the "brass" has any real info, and then not as much as can found here on this forum.

Is this ATI coupon-holder information reliable? It seems fairly strange that Valve would limit boucher holders to SP only HL2 considering they dropped their "SP only" package from the market as soon as Sierra went bankrupt. It doesn't seem entirely logical and I can tell you right now that I doubtm any will be pleased by such a stunt like that. HL2 is more than just the SP, as was HL. In fact, a large portion of the fanbase is buying the game/voucher just for the mods... Such a business decision by Valve would certainly make people think twice before buying their game.

ATI coupon holders got the premier pack simply because Valve didn't make their set release date, holding on to a coupon for more than a year insn't exactly encouraging for most people, not to mention feeling like you were ripped off on your purchase.

My manager just got back from a gaming convetion and he says he spoke to a couple of the programmers of hl2 and they said the following. Sam <--- the manager ask them about the release date of hl2 and they said SOON very SOON. They also told him to get as many people to reserve the collectors edition because there will be a big surprise.Ohh and get that limited book too it's got lots of cool pictures1000+ and stuff(29.99). He also brought back a bunch of games he got for free fable,blood rayne 2, etc...

Plus he got to see halo 2 in action he says it was awsome(yes he played it , they had a drawing of selected people that if there name was called they were sent into this booth to play it . And Star wars Battlefront was there and he says that game was a battlefield 1942 killer :sniper: (desert combat). But we all know Battlefield 2 is going to kill battlefront. Did you see those screenshots of Battlefiled 2

If i remember correctly the single player package idea was scrapped when sierra bottomed out. As i have read in various places that i can't remember Valve scrapped that idea and went for a normal release and a CE package.

This surprise-thing is based on the enlargement of the PC Gameplay cover page on www.pcgameplay.com and by trying to read what's written under "De volledige review" (the full review). Personally I don't give much attention to it since the actual text under "De volledige review" may say something else. You should try it yourself; enlarge the picture and try to read the text (since it's in Dutch, I'll be happy to translate it for you). I myself couldn't make much of it.

But then, it's always fun to speculate So if there's a surprise, it'll probably be HL² MP or what's in the CE (or the announcement that they have delayed the game for a year again).

I cant find it now honestly, but I read it somewhere right after we found out that VU was officially in testing for the next 72 hours. Idk, one of the few sources we recently heard from said it.

PC Gameplay says on the cover in tiny letters (the image is only like 200x200) something about a surprise.

At the PCGameplay site there is a small correction concerning the 50 additional screenshots they would place on their dvd that goes with the magazine, the review is real and has fourty new screenshots in it.

The reason why the 50 additional screens were removed from the dvd is as follows:

(It is in Dutch but I translate it for you!)
After the contents of the October issue where known (Half Life 2 review in it) which stirred up a lot of commotion on the internet, Valve asked us to not place the fifty additional screenshots on the dvd, out of concern there would be to much of the game revealed before it is in stores.

Although we made sure there where no screenshots of crucial moments in the game, we understand their concern (Valve) and decided to grant their request.

This means you have to do with the fourty screenshots to be placed with the review of Half Life 2, but no extra screenshots will be made available, as to what said earlier by us. We appologize for this. Naturally we will place screens of other games on the dvd etc etc.
