I used to be upset about that fact, when I was in the same boat which I felt was sinking back that long time ago, and the motorboat that is Hetairia didn't throw a safety line.

I drowned, and now I have a strange sense of peace about it. It doesn't bother me anymore.
 
i used to be really pissed about that too, sounded like this huge really awesome elitist thing. i really can't be arsed nowadays though. i think it's dead now anyway, it was ages ago they talked about it

I'm not sure why I think this, but I think once TF2 is released, it will inject a lot of vitality back into the hl2.net community. I think it will create a lot of new and comical (given the style of the game) gameplay scenarios people will want to share on these forums, as well as the inevitable strategy discussion. And hopefully Valve will keep it updated like they did TFC.
 
It's funny how a discussion on the declining quality of this forum ends with TollBooth Willie getting kicked in the balls.
 
What's worse is that originally, threads about the decline of thread quality would end in a Source vs. Unreal Engine 3 debate. This is just spam.

It's kind of refreshing in a way, though.

you know, we only have ourselves to blame for the decline of quality ..this thread is started, about arguably the most important issue to face gamers in almost a decade and I'll be surprised if it gets more than a half dozen posts (any more than that and it's probably due to this post)

you dont want thought provoking threads about issues that matter ..for the most part most of us just want to blow off steam ..so constant spamming is the result. So less complaining and more doing something about it
