What is the saddest/most beautiful song you've heard?

Which album is that from?

It's not on an album... was from their DVD.

There's some pretty good live recordings of it though: ftp://freebox.mistur.org/

Go to Concerts -> 2003 -> Hammersmith Apollo -> sigurros2003-02-12d2t05.shn

Might need a plugin to play Shorten (shn) files.

Or there's an mp3 of a slightly different version of the song from the 9:30 Club show (03.19.03).

There's also a full version of the Odin's Raven Magic concert if you're interested in that.

Seasons In the Sun by Terry Jacks
it's about him dying from cancer and saying goodbye to the world. He died like half a year after he recorded the song...

My favorite version is by Nirvana though.

EDIT: My god what a beautiful song, thx for posting it... I'll just go ahead and post it again but with a different video :>

Brian Eno "An Ending (Ascent)"

I tend to think Trance is the most emotional form of music, at least for me.

Oh no, I'm saying generally speaking. There's heaps of Rock/Blues music that make me emotional. Pink Floyd, Power Ballads. All great!!

And the title says largely what he is for trying to suckle on a gun.

I don't know if anyone else has added this. But it must be placed.

Yeah, this song always reminds me of this moment in Scrubs:

This song now gets my eyes welling up every time. the line in that Scrubs video the most is where Carla says "I don't know what else to say except I'm really, really going to miss you". So sad!!! ;(

Also another track to mention: Time After Time sung by John Barrowman. I heard it last night and it's so gorgeous!

Most beautiful: "Water" - Oingo Boingo.

Particularly the lyric "You left behind all your rage and fear / and it made you feel like water."

Probably something by Buckethead on either the Electric Tears or Colma albums.

That is one of the saddest episodes of Scrubs I have ever seen...

Right now, Casimir Pulaski Day by Sufjan Stevens.

Oh the Glory, when He took our place
But He took my shoulders and He shook my face
And He takes and He takes and He takes

Radiohead - The Drugs Don't Work

It's about emotionality!

Dead Boy's Poem-Nightwish
Forgiven-Within temptation

And for beautiful, anything by Within Temptation. XD

Agreed. It's absolutely impossible for me to watch that with dry eyes. Also, an interesting thing to note is at the end when they're sat in the bar you can tell that when Carla is crying they are genuine, real life tears. It's more like Judy (the actress) is crying rather than Carla. I thought that was rather interesting.

Radiohead- Everything In It's Right Place

or even possible

Weezer- Only In Dreams

Radiohead - The Drugs Don't Work

Are you sure you didn't mean The Verve? I've got all the Radiohead tracks on my computer and there isn't one with that name, but I have got the Verve's one.
