It's disturbing that the nutjob Ron Paul has this much support. Thank God hl2.net doesn't decide the outcome of the election.
 
wtf? Ron Paul isn't a nutjob, he's the most sound minded politican to surface in America today. He has the guts to stand up and talk about the debt based system and real factors that lead to the massive defecits the country is in, being directley related to private banks such as the FED.

He wants to change the system for the better, to how founding fathers had it, with the people controlling the gold and the countries wealth, not just in the hands of the few private banks. The rest are nothing but Bilderberg ****s, politican patsies used as tools for the banking families and large corporate entities.

A good politician also has to be a realist. Will his proposed changes make it through Congress? Doubtful.
 
Because congress is corrupt, wake up. Your country isn't run by the people anymore, it's all a happy land facade for those who don't give a shit, besides it's the ideal that matters. If you don't believe in a republic then you might aswell not vote, idealisim or not his message is true and it could be done with enough pressure from the masses.

Ron paul getting into office won't magically make Congress un-corrupt. "The masses" you talk about won't make a bit of difference. You're the one that needs to wake up and see that not only will he not make it into office and if he did he will not be able to enact any positive changes. The best he can hope to do is pass a few smaller things which will probably do more to hurt the country than help it.

As an American, I understand how apathetic my fellow countrymen are. Unless there's another 9/11 we won't give a shit.

Besides, you're looking at one part of his platform. He's about more than that. And none of it seems very good to me.

IMO the two most important issues for America are economic stability and Mid East policy, so I'd vote Ron Paul.

I guess he believe in evolution, canditates who don't believe are Brownback, Tancredo and Huckabee. Leaving UN and NATO is just stupid isolationism.

Why do we still need NATO, cold war is over. The UN is also as shown by Iraq and Darfur a redundant organization, although I think America should sty in the UN, it's better then nothing.

Acting against what? As a defensive organization it's obsolete, the EU has a pan-European defensive policy and America doesn't need help defending itself.

Al-queda is irrelevant to NATO, hence NATO is now redundant. NATO was a counter balance to the Warsaw pact. From a European perspective there is little reason to abolish NATO, although we would be fine without it. For America who basically pays for the whole thing and gets nothing in return there is not really any point.

the US leaving nato and the UN is more about accountability then wether america "needs" the UN. the US was instrumental in it's creation in founding it's laws/beliefs/charters ..it's more than a little suspect that now after all this time americans want to leave an organization that they shaped/molded to suit their purposes. They dont want to be told that their actions are illegal, they dont want accountability to anyone but americans ..which is extremely ironic because you expect the rest of the world to be accountable to you as seen by your role as self appointed global police ..and no I dont think american conservatives are nuts and the liberals are sane ..there's little that differentiates them in the grander scheme of things (foreign policy) so they're both "a little bit from column a and a little from column b" ..it's convienent for you and other americans to stereotype me into one category ..it makes it easier to dismiss/ignore my arguments


and like it or not personal convictions DO matter ..personally I wouldnt vote into office a creationist ..I mean if he cant be counted to recognize fairy tales when he sees them what chance does he have with every day issues etc ..plus it doesnt help that your beliefs attracted some of the most powerful influential religious groups in america ..I'd rather they didnt look over his shoulder

Despite his age Ron Paul is breathe of fresh air, however I think his nomination chances will get cock blocked somehow despite his grass roots popularity, simply because too many people have too much to loose if he did get elected (the man wants to kick the Federal reserve in the nuts). The vast majority of his party don't support his position on many things and that stance wouldn't change much even if he did find himself in the white house (by some miracle).

I would vote Barrack Obama far before I voted for Ron Paul, and I say that as a registered Republican. Ron Paul is frightening because he doesn't seem to have thought through all the things he's suggesting. He's thinking they'll all work wonderfully, when in reality they'll probably work horribly in the short term, which means they'll likely be changed before they can work in the long term.
 
Right now I'm thinking Ron Paul; not because I support his ideas specifically, but because he seems 10x more honest than the other candidates & I think his ideas need to be in the Country's face to wake it the f*** up! The main thing I do support is smaller government; and he's the only politician I've heard say it that I actually believe.

The biggest problem we'd face is all those people who've become so dependent on government programs (a.k.a. lazy). It's sad when the government gets 1/3 of my money, but somehow still goes further and further into debt. I also think the money-system needs to be reorganized. We're too heavily based on a system of debt, rather than a system of productivity.

learn about inflation , the federal reserve, the deficit and the history of American involvement in the middle east, and you won't be calling Ron Paul a fool. America cannot economically sustain it's foreign policy, Ron Paul is the only candidate who understands this.

The funny thing is I have learned about all of that. I know there are a lot of problems with the system, but I can't see his changes working out the way he wants them to. There are too many obstacles, first and foremost being Congress.
