Which would you rather own in real life, the portal gun or the Gravity gun?

Portal gun, no question.

What would I do with artificial gravity?
 
Neither, they both seem to be far too large and clunky to handle realistically.

One just ouside my house, another one at school then my problems are solved.
 
Portals are extremely boring. There's no point getting there fast, you miss the entire ride.

Gravity gun? Lift some ****ing boulders, for ****'s sake.
 
Lets not forget the portal gun has a slight gravity gun ability too. Not nearly as powerful but still.

Gravity gun would be good in war/fighting scenerios but the ASHPD is best for everyday use, so that one.
 
Gravity gun would have far less common uses than a Portal gun. Especially for someone who specialises in avoiding heavy lifting or not requiring any effort to do something at all.

One may now not have to work anywhere ever again!

Saves a 6 hour train journey to Manchester. Oh, and I'd get sex every single day, too. Totally awesome.
 
Can't you only have one set of point A to point B portals open at a time? Sounds awesome, but I'll probably have to vote gravity gun, as I'm not aware of the portal gun's complete capabilities as I don't yet have Orange Box. :(

Also, if the portal gun can only have 1 set of portals open at a time, you'd be screwed if say you used the portal gun once after driving to the location you frequent most, went home that night after class/work, used the portal instead of car to get to college/work the next day, then you accidentally close the portal with no ride home from college/work. :p

They just require more creativity. ;)

Portal under that boulder, another one on a wall somewhere and you've moved it. No need to carry it around, knocking into people and crap either.

Yeah, it's true you can only have one pair of Portals open at a time. But as to the conundrum with no car, you use the portals to get to your destination hyper-fast by planting a portal down the road and going through it.

There are also considerations of dropping large distances, but as long as you're careful.

We had this discussion at work when the OB first came out.

You've got to wonder about people who go back through the lounge to revive a thread that hasn't had a post in nine months. Is it boredom? Is their opinion so pressing that they have to make it known to everyone which fictional weapon they'd choose? Really, Blackout.

Sorry, I just forget to check when it last recieved a post, I was searching for polls to vote on which yeah was out of boredom, but I swear this was an accident.

But I wont object to my infraction.
