PETA is a terrible organization, they don't help eitherside by spreading lies and exagerations.

"I will you youre dirsricts nearest school 20,000$ worth of veggie Burgers if you call your Veggiburg instead of Hamburg"

Oh leave 'im alone! You're the one who double posted. :p He spoke the truth. Who really cares?

Get over it.

sigh ..who cares that peta has saved thousands of animals, it's all about pam anderson's boobs and throwing paint on people wearing fur ..god knows no one ever cares about the animals these people save ..no that would be too much to ask.

well of course I think its important to bust labs doing wicked experimnts but to say ur a nazi cuz I like to eat meat...makes my blood boil

I dont know nothing about that peta

but they should understand that we eat animals cuz it nutrive and stuff
off course vegetables too but I think the meat hav somethings that the vegetables dont hav
also is the fact that we uso more that the meat

they should be more focused on people that kill animals for more unecesary things

Actually I tend to agree with PETA ethics...
I'd be a vegetarian, but I'm too lazy.

I'm too lazy to carry out my own moral beliefs -_-
I'm going to hell.

no one says that ..except the extremists. Besides most animal groups are not trying to get you to stop eating meat ..they want the animals that are bred for our consumption to be treated humanely

if you ever have the chance watch/rent this video it may change your mind

PETA are the extremists, they may not act on it but they spread lies like they do. You could also say how many lifes a totalitarian government saved through security, but that doesn't make it good.

peta are not extremists
They seem like it to me, it would help if they didn't lie and exagerate so much too.

Yea they are. I saw an ad on a tv special about peta with text"Your mommy kills bunnies." With a drawing of a lady holding down a small rabbit with one hand and a large butcher knife in the other :p

i love hamburgers, i could never stop eatting meat

They do have certain extreme views:

* You shouldn't drink milk: http://www.milksucks.com

* Feeding children meat is child abuse: http://www.canoe.ca/NewsStand/LondonFreePress/News/2004/08/22/596716.html

usw.

EDIT: I have nothing against Vegetarians or even ethical treatment of animals (to a point). But I'm afraid I could never agree with PETA.

I dont see a extremist viewpoint. The billboard is advertising using shock value to get attention. ...a little over the top but I dont see the problem. They're not advocating violence in either of those links

They aren't advocating it, but people can take it too seriously and act on it.

What's a 'peta'? Some sort of super-liberal animal-rights hippie group?

Edit: Nevermind. I actually decided to read the whole thread.

CptStern said:
but how is that their fault?
Because they are spreading lies and manipulating the people, to make them act.

Now, now... don't go turning this nice political thread into a... well... ahh **** it... go nuts!

Oh, it's not violent. As long as it's not violent it's okay.
If a group said that all Black People are lazy and it's a crime against White people to give them a job, would you say that wasn't extreme?

I'm sorry, "Feeding your child meat is child abuse" is really over the line, I have no problem with people being vegatarian, or general "animal rights". But to suggest that millions of parents are abusing their children is just absurd.

In fact, just a day or so ago, you were quite shocked to find out a US Senator said "Games are not art or media". Wasn't that a shock statement to get people's attention?

I hate things like this. PETA use scare tactics and shock statements just to try and get their agenda through to people. If that doesn't work, they call meat eaters horrible names. It pisses me off, because funnily enough, PETA belongs in a free country. Y'know, a country where people are free to make up their mind on what they want to do without idiots berating them for it (that's the theory, anyway...) all the time. I grew up with a vegetarian mother who never forced her views on me or my dad, so I know exactly how these people should act.

No, I do not have a problem with most animal testing, no I do not have a problem with most furs (unless the animal is endangered in some way) and I definately do not have a problem with eating meat and drinking milk. I also enjoy some quorn and soya products, but the fact is, telling me what I can and cannot eat or feed other people is damned immature.

I have to agree with Feath here CptStern, you do seem to have a double standard.

Having a billboard saying that if you feed your child meat, it is child abuse is an extremist point of view and highly offensive to the hundreds of millions of parents out there who actively feed their children a healthy diet that includes meat.

I am all for the fair treatment of animals, my mum helps to run a charity to rescue cats and kittens, i support the rspca and i support organisations that ensure that animals are confined humanely and killed for meat without suffering and pain, but i will never support the extremist views that Peta does come across with.

edit: and the terrorist killings and civilians killed in war has absolutely nothing to do with the humane treatment of animals, so please keep those views out of this thread.
