Heh...seems like this may be closer to a reality than I thought when I was writing it.

According to some people on the Doom 3 IGN Boards...Gamestops around the country say their computers are back to getting it on the 4th. I personally liked Gamestop better than EB...just because the people are friendlier and not such know-it-all's there...but if this whole release of theirs wasn't an accident...that's really lame.

if it wasnt the pre-order, cool GO BUY IT... (and if they wont let you, its a bit worse than the store not having it... heh)

wether you have the game, or even if its available has no effect on me.. my friend at GS will call me as soon as he has my copy ready.

I should, although in all honesty I have only mentioned it recently (I rented and finished it 3 days ago).
Doom3 will hopefuly take it's place soon.

Lol ya i got at eb games around 9:50 waited for it to open. They said they will most likely have it aug 3rd. I went back to the gamestop that said they will have it the july 31st and the date has changed back to the aug 4th. I then went to bestbuy and spent 1 hour 30 mins looking at dvds lol. Best buy had a doom 3 box with the toy demon inside for preorders.

The official release date as been set as the 13th of August. It's not allowed to be sold before then.

It doesn't matter when the stores get them, it won't be out till the 13th.

I'm sorry that you think that my wrong (sic). But I was referring to the UK, not Holland.

I have never seen a game come out before it's release date in the UK. They may have them in the stockroom but I believe it's against the law.

So if i can get it earlier from America i'd probably do that... anyone happen to know the shipping prices off hand?

I just pre-ordered it from Amazon UK and the confirmation e-mail claimed it would most likely reach me on the 16th. It better be at the very most be the 14th.

I wouldn't trust it to get here on time. Anyway, I've just tryed it and it said "*** We're sorry. This item can't be shipped to your selected destination. You may either change the shipping address or delete the item from your order by changing its quantity to 0 and clicking the update button below. ***"

So I guess you can't get it shipped from the US Amazon to the UK.

You should get it from a dedicated games retailer like GAME, they will not only have more stock avilable, but will also most likely try to get it delivered on the official release date i.e. the 13th (in the UK).

My mam preordered the Tie Fighter expansion from Game, and she went in on the day it came out and they said "Sorry, we've ran out."

What's the point of pre-ordering a game if they are just going to run out. My mam wasn't happy at all.

It's going to be quite difficult trying to resist downloading the full game as well.
