Holy shit. I was JUST about to place my order for most of my parts (excluding the xt and the a8v mobo)....when in the last second the FX-53 socket 939 retail goes out of stock!!!!! NOOO!!!!! Please tell me they'll be getting more in?! I know the 939 fx-53 is incredibly rare right now, but will newegg replace within a reasonable time? (a week or so?) Im so upset:(

......what are you talking about?

You could try zipzoomfly.com
I'm not sure how their service is compared to Newegg or how lenient they are with returns/RMAs but I think they have free shipping on some of their stuff.
Price it up and see if they have it instock.

Otherwise I'd wait for them to come back instock on newegg.

What I'm saying is that will newegg get more in? Since the 939 fx-53 is extremely rare until q4 of this year.

You can wait then.

We told you the Socket 939 processor's were going to be rare (especially the fx-53). This is what happens when you try to buy rare items. Hopefully, they should get it back in stock soon since they are a large company.

i htink you cna set up and e-mail thing where it'll e-mail u when it's back in stock.

Newegg is the best!

Try calling them maybe they can give you a better answer or you can just wait?

its not exactly the hl2 section though is it, its the hardware, software and trouble shooting section. maybe he thought that someone here might of had past experience with something like this.

They have some in stock right now better grab em before theyre gone.

They have the OEM in stock, I want the retail.

Just wait or mail them, Btw you have 2000 posts Congratulations.

how much will all those parts cost you at the end?

and what monitor do you already have

its 2700 altogether. i have a samsung syncmaster 955df. its 19" viewable and its a sexy two-tone color :-D however I WANT MY DAMN FX-53 939 PROCESSOR!!! :(:(:(:(

I think you can have newegg email you when it comes back in stock. However, this might just be for price changes.

I looked right now and it says it's in stock.

But thats the OEM. I want the retal with the heatsink and fan and manual etc etc plus ill feel safer knowing it didnt come in a hard plastic container.

O boy, then your ass can wait.

Even tho this is kinda ****ed, i hope they run out of ALL the 53's until december so your ass can feel stupid for not getting the OEM.

hehe
Harsh.

BTW you don't get a manual with CPUs...
You would be getting a heatsink/fan and a 3 year Warranty.
Although if you OC that warranty is gone and you would probably want a different heatsink.

Personally I would just get the OEM and get a better heatsink anyways

Stock Heatsinks = shiznit

Besides don't OEM products come with a warranty also? Just not as extensive as the retail one?

Yep

I got an OEM athlon 2700+
Works fine

Besides, what do you think the manual will tell you. Anything you want to know it on AMD's website.

And you will want to get a better heatsink because as reletively slow mine is, it puts out massive amounts of heat. Just think of what that one will put out.

damn, i was gonna order that shit too in like a week. i hope they restock them soon.

just go with the OEM, you don't get a pretty box, but who the hell cares?

maybe you should wait for a 939 bord that has pci-express and 800xt with pci express which should both be out by september and will offer better performance.

i myself will wait for pci express 939 board and get a 3500+ for it. then OC the 3500+ to own a fx53(if thats possible without water cooling, i hate water cooling)

or maybe you should wait for ailenware's duel video card thing that's going to be shown at e3

It has?

Why do they post the winners on June 8th then?

E3 was May 12-14, 2004.

They need to decide on the winners...

A64's run pretty cool enough so that any heatsink (including stock) is more than enough for a cool CPU.
Plus Socket 939 A64's are on a new core (CG) which decreased heat.

OEM warranties are 30 days.
Retail are 3 years.
If you OC you void it though. lol
Pretty easy to figure out.
If OC
then OEM and HSF
else Retail

I'm a little nervous about oem that's all......are you sure guys? This is $800 we're talking here. If this thing stops working after 30 days then I'm ****ed.

Well if you're throwing out $800 you're taking a risk right there anyways.

At least in retail its packaged correctly and not sent in a piece of shit, risking the chance of damaging the pins.

In that case you send it back to newegg and they eat it.

wait 2 weeks for the pentiums who knows what if they have magic powers and are super fast.

Or if the pins break when you put the CPU into the Socket.

Pins on motherboard socket...not on CPU. Fun...especially for the motherboard manufactures.
Do you really want DDR2?
