You do not just have one tax bracket so that your total income is taxed one rate, but several rates in a stepped manner. So it's really only fair that people getting more money paying an higher rate on a portion of their income get some of that back.

I'll make it simple. A person who pays more taxes should get more tax cuts. It's really the only logically fair way.

liberal, conservative republican or democrat ..it's the same thing; labels used to describe a particular pov ..you seem to divide everyone into two distinct camps: liberal/democrat (the democrats are right of centre so I dont know how you people came up with the "liberal" label) and conservative/republican

You are deriving this from a joke I made about democrats. Really man think about that. It was a joke so it does not encompass my world view. The dentist I was referring to is a hardline democrat. Since that is the case I described him as one. I'm not seeing the issue here personally. I understand their is a full spectrum of ideology out there. I'd describe myself as strongly conservative, but not everything I believe or support is in line with conservative ideology.

It's really not hard. You pay more money into the system. Then when some of that money is given back to people it is only fair you get more back then someone who paid less. You still have paid more in total. If somebody has 50% of their income taken in taxes then they should get a bigger cut than someone who pays 20% of their income. Tell me how that isn't fair.

I think a flat tax rate would be the fairest method since you brought it up.
