Well, I hate to do be the one starting it, but we are lacking a WoW thread.

WOTLK just came out mere days ago, and the popular paladin, Athene powerleveled to 79 and was about to hit 80 when he got banned by blizzard. It took him 13 hours to do this.

As for me, I am currently leveling a DK, sitting at level 72.

Lets have some WoW discussions going!

Here is my Shaman, and my Death Knight. Much love to my shaman who I might not level for a while.

DK = Death Knight?

Enjoy levelling while it lasts, after that it's only the grind until the next expansion.

Well I look forward to it honestly.

On my shaman, Pre-wotlk, I honestly ran out of things to do. I had over 5k gold. I had 2200+ rating in all brackets. I raided into sunwell. I achieved TONS of achievements. I got baron's mount. I had exalted in too many factions.

I am glad I have to regear up, gives me something to do. Although I am slightly upset that I dont have a near finished character anymore.

That's what I thought, but don't they start at level 50/55? Did you power level him?

Yea they start at lvl 55. I played tons, but believe me, im slow compared to other players that have reached level 75-80 already on a death knight.

Re-rolled A Blood Elf paladin for Wotlk, level 19 ATM. Will probably make a Tauren DK once I'm a higher level.

World of Warcraft blows. I'm just savin you time, people.

Blizzard have really messed up their story slash setting over the course of WoW. The original WC games had a pretty decent story with a few interesting characters, but now it's all black and white cliche filled dung.

Can't really have it any other way with MMOs, or at least WoW. Any plot they incorporate would have to mesh with the raid/kill/loot scheme they so vehemently adhere to... which pretty much only leaves room for shit like "this guy's gone mental, go kill him and take his hat maybe."

... "And also he's like three stories tall now for some reason."

Let's not turn this thread into a WoW bash :(

Anyone who hit 80 already - especially on a Death Knight - are exactly the kind of idiots that give this game a horrible reputation.

Also Death Knights are ****ing awesome to play.

why was he banned?

There was honestly no good reason. He was using a mob tagging tactic, that both the second level 80 (27 hours) and the first level 70 used, but instead of outdoors, it was indoors in a instance. Apparently, it makes a difference. If you ask me, its just bullshit from blizzard. People do it to power level lowlevels from 1-70 as fast as possible, people did it to race from 60-70, and now 70-80, and athene was the only person ever to get banned by using that method.

I've never played wow, though I am occasionally tempted. Especially since this free trial magically appeared on my desktop one day.

And you can bet your ****** asses I'd play horde.

I played it for a year. Oh gawd how I regret that.

I went cold turkey on it and have been over 2 months sober. Life is soooo much better without that ****ing money hole.

at least for me it's not a money hole going on beer or smokes.

Haven't gotten WotLK yet, will do when my protection warrior hits 70 (69 atm so I better order it now really). Prot warriors are a fucking blast to play, Blizzard has done a very good job on making them viable to level and grind with, and even to PvP with.

I lol'd. But it's not really true. There's lots of interesting lore in WoW and while filler content like instances such as ZA may feel a bit random lore-wise, major plot points usually have a huge build up to them, spanning across many levels. You know, for people who actually read the quest text. Pretty much all of vanilla WoW was a buildup to the fight with Ragnaros and Nefarian.

Yeah, Warcraft's story line was like subtle poetry until WoW ruined it..

Warcraft has always been about black and white, good vs evil. Hell, good and evil are not abstract concepts but actual physically present forces in the Warcraft universe. Corruption ("going mental") has always been present in Warcraft, like the corruption by magic.

I have WotLK but not had chance to play it with my 70 warrior. Will play it properly once my uni work is done.

Started a DK also, they look awesome, not played much with him yet though.

Arthas' fall was well done. Illidan was an excellent character pre-WoW.

When's the last time you actually played the WC3 and Frozen Throne campaigns?

So far, I am very impressed with how they handled the story of athas, but BC with illidan was a joke

Yeah, so far it's better than Illidan from what I've seen, but it does seem completely OTT and corny :/
Is a bit of restraint or class too much to ask for?

I played for 3 years, mabe a bit more, cant remember.

Stayed with my first guild as we cleared MC, then BWL, god DAMN those were the best days of WoW. My best memories are from those times.

Took a year out for Uni, came back with The BC, almost caused some of my guildies to wipe in Karazhan as they were 'Omfg he's back!' etc. Cleared Kara, SSC, TK and BWL BEFORE the nerf patch /epeen (Illidan was the end of the game for me), then bloody SWP came along and we downed Muru, had a few tries on KJ and then I quit WoW. A few weeks later, patch comes along and nerfs EVERYTHING and suddenly in the space of about a week, 7 or so guilds down KJ including mine. Took the piss.

WoW is a life-consuming game. Im so bloody glad I quit for good now. I dont even think about my guild raiding on thu, sundays and tuesdays anymore. Its almost erased for me. But ill never forget the good times and my guild members that are still there after 3 years. *sigh*

Leveling my gnome warlock atm. Really enjoying the expansion, especially the dungeons. They are so much better than the original TBC instance content. Can't wait to reach lvl 80 and start raiding properly.

I am old WoW player and i play it since 2005, its great game with great players quests items etc etc. I am playing WoW and i have 3 characters: Draenei Priest level 74, Undead Warlock level 72 and Human paladin level 70. By the way the new WoW it's awesome and it's features are:

* Level cap raised to 80
* Battle with the Lich King at the Frozen Throne
* One new playable class: Death Knight
* A new continent: Northrend
* The creation of a new profession: Inscription
* Profession level cap raised to 450
* New items, quests, dungeons, creatures, spells and weapons
* Siege weapons and destructible buildings (for PvP)
* New character-customization options, including new hairstyles
* First completely PvP zone (regardless of what kind of server you play on)
* Improved Graphics Engine (applied to shaders, flame effects, water appearance and detailed shadows)
* New factions including the Tuskarr (Walrus-men), Frenzyheart (Wolverine-men), The Oracles (evolved form of murlocs) and the Taunka, a racial cousin to the Tauren.

None of the new features come anywhere near being able to tempt me back. It looks like more of the same.

I played WoW for about 2 years until I quit about 18 months ago. I did have some fun, but to be honest in hindsight it seems like a shed load of wasted time.

I sometimes pay subscription for like a month and have a little play about, but never get into anything serious. Still talk to a few of my old Guildies though.

This is why WoW can f*ck off and die.
It's butchering all of the awesomeness that could've been in Warcraft 4. :(

It isn't 100% sure yet. Blizzard's still working on Icecrown Citadel so it's not sure whether or not you get to kill Arthas. Here's hoping you don't.

My brother picked up the expansion. I haven't had a lot of hands-on with it, but after playing his DK for a bit I did get the "OMG BUY BUY BUY BUY" urge. It's subsided a bit since though.

I'm still pretty disappointed in the direction WoW is going for a multitude of reasons. But I'll be damned if I don't feel like picking up a copy and dinging 80.

Nah, you're forgetting what Blizzard does best. Warcraft 4 is just going to be one big retcon.
