What site did you pre-order the collectors edition off of? I can't seem to find one.

EDIT: Oh. Gamestop. Are they reliable to pre-order from?
EDIT 2: Just pre ordered the Cataclysm Collectors Edition from Amazon...now to wait until November. Sigh

Also, I got mine at 80$, not 99$.

mine is like day 1 shipping, don't know if yours is the same or not. regardless i've been helping 2 friends from work play and its been fun seeing them level up. i give them a bunch of gold every once in a while and they ask for help in return. they catch on faster than i did playing but i also never took the time to read the manual or ask as many questions. regardless i made a few new characters and i'm leveling up my dudes
 
Ordering my CE next weekend. Can't wait.
 
The site I ordered from says "Pre-order: Releases 1 Dec 2010 (estimated date)"

got one more friend to play wow. its fairly simple and for the past 2 months been playing for free and with 3X the Experience!
 
God, playing worgen will be so depressing. You have this awesome new model, but you can only see it like once every 2 minutes when the cooldown pops, and the rest of the time you're stuck with the horrible human model/animations. Christ I hope they don't wait too long to update the old ones...
 
I thought it was more of a form shift sort of like druids. Plus I remember them saying that Worgen would always shift into beast mode upon entering combat, unless that has changed.
 
Worgen also get their own travel ability replacing a racial mount.

Hmm, could be wrong, I haven't been following it closely. Any case, they're going to want to stay out of human form as much as, um... worgenly possible.
 
Worgen form is on as long as you want it to be on, if it is NOT on it comes on automatically when you use darkflight or enter combat.
 
Oh, hmm. So it's more like worgen with human form, then? Odd. :p

Was expecting it a bit earlier too, but oh well, still practically a guaranteed purchase.

Funny how closely WoW mirrors some far more serious habits, isn't it? As soon as you find reasons to cancel and finally actualize that it isn't doing anything for you, you find yourself enamored by a nostalgia entirely related to events which occurred in a world entirely distanced from reality.

I too can't wait to insert the sweet, sweet needle again.
 
Yep since I started reading another WoW book that I started a long time ago and all this news keeps cropping up, I'm pretty sure I'll be reactivating my account. I've told myself I'm not going to get into serious raiding or anything like before. My guild went like five days a week for four or five hours a pop. Plus I'd be doing things on top of that getting gold and rep and such. I miss the guild simply because they were mostly good people, but the time investment was just overwhelming. I think if I spend two or three days a week playing a decent amount I'll be just fine.

Now I realy do sound like a drug addict. You'll see me in a few months emaciated and sleep deprived talking about how we downed whoever the hell the next big villain is and I got this mundane epic.
 
I can honestly say I beat my habit. Well, not really. It is more a case of getting bored with the core gameplay. I played the beta for a couple of days but I uninstalled because it simply didn't appeal to me anymore. I'll gladly dive into another MMO but I have yet to find one that holds my attention until after the first free month.

That's what I said, but a lot of other MMOs will never live up to what WoW has pulled off since they basically have unlimited money and a format that is overwhelmingly attractive to even the most basic players.
 
Thing is they can make 'better' games with more niche appeal, WoW is limited in what it can do by its strength, the incredibly broad user base. They can never do some of the things EVE or some of its copycats see as normal for instance.

I quit WoW years ago now, the core gameplay gets incredibly boring, 'endgame' is a "rinse and repeat" chore. I would have stopped half a year before I did if the guys I played with weren't so funny.

I agree with your first point. I really wish they would give WoW a graphical facelift. Yes, they are releasing a new graphical engine update, but the graphical improvements aren't THAT great.

To be fair, World of Warcraft came out almost 6 years ago. There's only so much you can do with an engine that old.

Trailer was pretty corny. Also Deathwing was armor plated during Warcraft 2 why the hell is he shown having it done post-Lich King? Blizzard retconning stuff for a WoW expansion again?
 
Maybe he needs to be re-plated every time he enters dragon form? not sure. Makes for a cool cinematic anyway.
 
He had to re-gear for Cataclysm because all his old loot was obsolete.

I really wonder how crowded it will be on launch day. I've never played on a WoW launch day before.
 
I imagine it'll be similar to logging into a new server. I was on one of the first RP/PvP servers on launch day, rolled an Orc and was literally competing for scorpions and cactus apples. :|
 
I really want to just download the game from Blizz because I hate standing in line for 1+ hr waiting for a game that takes 30+ mins to install and run and log into when I can just do it from my home completely naked
 
I'm buying from brick and mortal only because I have all my original WoW/BC/LK boxes lined up in an OCD way with manuals, etc in tact. It's not a collector's kinda thing, I only have the regular versions, they just look like neat little books on my book shelf. Neat little books containing neckbeard crack girl repellent bliss.

Order the collector's edition off Amazon once it comes back in stock. Save the pet code, sell it for $$$ years later.

Also, it's official, Deathwing will fly around old world zones, attacking major quest hubs and killing players with his flame breath.

I continue to be impressed with Blizzard's customer service... I sent them an email yesterday about my World of Warcraft account still having issues from when my entire Battle.net account was stolen earlier this year, and they have already fixed it. That means I don't have to buy 4 damn games just to play Cataclysm when it comes out!

And I probably will play it... there's just not a whole lot else to play at the moment. Not gonna hardcore it or anything... just take it nice and easy.
