except one downside (a major one) is the current "dumbing down" of pc games becuase the devlepoer wants to make it for both pc and console will grow even larger.User Name said:I, personally, think it's a great idea from Microsoft to make Xbox 2 compatible with both console games and PC games. No need for an upgrade when more graphically advanced games hit the market, it's ingenious!
So, you think that just because Deus Ex: Invisible War was "dumbed down", as you put it, that most or all games that are released for the Xbox 2 will also be "dumbed down", and that the PC will get the shitty end of the stick? I think Microsoft knows what they're doing and they're doing it very well. You wait and see, my friend, this may turn out to be the best move Microsoft will ever make...hopefully.shapeshifter said:except one downside (a major one) is the current "dumbing down" of pc games becuase the devlepoer wants to make it for both pc and console will grow even larger.
games like Duex ex II etc (aka crap becuase they had to "dumb" them down for the console scene and were to greedy to make a good game for just the pc)

Exactly.ComradeBadger said:What was wrong with DX:IW ?
T'was a great game
And I'm a hardcore fan of the origanal :E
It would also play PC games and include a fully functional version of Windows, CD burner, DVD player (with remote control), built-in access to Xbox Live and a hard drive. Control-wise, the system would come with both a keyboard and mouse and a standard Xbox controller. The price point this particular study tested was $599.
Also, out of principle, I don't want to buy my next PC hardware directly from Microsoft. They already control the PC OS market and now they want a piece of the PC hardware market.
That means the console proably wont cost 600 like it said in the articalHowever, Morris notes that even if this hybrid becomes a reality, it would probably be an alternative to a standalone XBox Next console, much like the Sony PSX is to the PlayStation 2.
Sounds like someone is in love with their ps2! > The first x box was alright for certain games but it needed a mouse and keyboard. I also hated the microphone for x box live, hearing some kid having a screaming fight with his mother, "mom Im playing Xbox!!" was too much for me. Also hearing some kid trying to rap killed me. I felt like I was babysitting, "Are you rapping? well please stfu!!" I ended up just giving all my games and xbox to my nephews but I will still check out the xbox2 when it comes out.Tinneth said:The first X-Box sucked...the second one is gonna suck. No real suprise there.

I'll list them for him.Tinneth said:Yes. Tell me..what decent games were there on the X-Box? Also, the controller sucked. Why bother getting an x-box when you have a PC?

shiv said:I know this wasnt directed towards me but I'll answer a bit of it. As far as decent games Moto gp2 kicked butt, 16 online racers, halo of course was fun and there are others. As far as why buy an xbox when you already have a pc is, why not? It is fun to have four friends hanging out in the living room playing on an widescreen hdtv.
I stated that Burnout 2: Point of Impact-Developer's Cut was released on the Xbox, but it was not released for both the GameCube and the Playstation 2. Therefore you are incorrect. You are right on saying that Burnout 2: Point of Impact was released for GCN and PS2, but they are not the Developer's Cut, only the Xbox has the Developer's Cut.Tinneth said:Burnout 2: Point of Impact- Released on PS2, GC

Also, the Grand Theft Auto Double Pack was not released for the PC, only for the PS2 and Xbox. So, you are incorrect again.
The new s controller is good. I dont know why so many people had a problem with the original it was a solid well built controller, it might have been big for for 10 year olds but The xbox was targeted to people in there twenties.the controller sucked

But you didn't say that. You said that the Grand Theft Auto Double Pack was released also for the PS2 and PC, which is false. The Double Pack was only released for the PS2 and Xbox.Tinneth said:And by saying that the Grand Theft Auto Double Pack was released on PC and PS2, I meant the actual games..not the special offer.
