I remember when we got our sixth person, and I was like "HOLY SHIT SO MANY PEOPLE." Now we have to break up into different squads and repeat ourselves 80 times because we're always getting talked over in mumble and nobody can hear us.

Like I said, I think splitting into two channels in mumble with team leader communication would benefit us. Plus I just think it's a really cool idea.

Bought IL2 Sturmovik 1946 out of boredom. Holy crap the graphics/I suck at flying prop airplanes.

I want to get IL2 Sturmovik again (I bought it ages ago before, but I dont think i have the disk anymore) but I don't really want to buy a joystick to go with it, because if I did, I'd want to get a really good one, and then use it with ARMA2 as well, but then I'd have to get a Track IR so I could look around the cockpit/outside while flying with the joystick. Buying IL2 will cost me several hundred dollars.

Heh, well if you play ARMA2 a lot, certainly TrackIR is a justifiable investment?

Not to mention you can use it in racing games etc as well.

I have IL-2 1946 myself, but since I sold my HOTAS almost two years ago now, I only ever install it when I'm bored and want to setup some gigantic battles and just watch the AI duke it out.

Eep, I hope you didn't get it on Steam. CO is on Amazon for 12 bucks.

Meh I don't care. If I have to do something else than open steam, press buy and press install, then it's too much work for me to even bother :D

-Mirror's Edge
-Sim City 4
-Bad Company 2: Vietnam

Gettin another tomorrow.

After I started flying real prop airplanes, IL2 got so much easier. But shit, WW2 planes are high ****in' performance.

Um, yeah that's kind of the point. Buying Arma 2 on steam proves to be more of a hassle than a non-steam copy. That is, if you want to play with us (or even just run ACE mod, which improves the game ten fold), or be able to download updates that aren't 2 gigabytes.

So one should try to get the retail copies of ARMA2+expansions if possible?

I own ARMA2 retail but was pondering buying the complete Steam pack.

Retail boxed, or any other digital download like Sprocket or Amazon.

Er, why? Just get OA on Amazon for $10. You can install it right on to your A2 install and it will work perfectly.

I guess I'll just pick up the retail copy in the future.

Yeah, if I were you I'd wait for another sale on sprocket.

Wow, I never knew Bohemia had their own online store!

Thanks for telling me Vegeta :)

I always prefer buying titles as directly from the developer as possible.

Bought Lara Craft and the Guardian of Light yesterday from PSN. Reduced price.

Quite a nice direction for the Tomb Raider series.

I checked the price and it was still normal price. Probably the sale was only for EU?

Anyway, just bought these two:

Way too much in the steam sale. Not so much the money, but the knowledge that I'll probably be lucky to give half of them a decent innings (my games to play/finish backlog is huge already...). But with prices as low as they've been at times it's pretty much impossible to pass them up.

As good a place to shove this as any.

Sale at sprocket, where most of us got Arma 2. I don't think there's any major difference between downloading the game from here or Amazon though, and that sale appears to still be on (here).

So yeah, it's a bit more expensive, but I figured I'd post it on the off chance someone would rather buy it there for whatever reason (not being in America, for example). Oh also, for some inexplicable reason, buying Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead separately is about half a euro cheaper than Combined Ops. :|

I just bought and played through Eat Them! on the PS3, not particularly happy with the purchase, the game was short adn pretty darned mediocre.

By the way, would the sprocket OA work with my retail ARMA2?

Yes, all non-steam versions are compatible with all non-steam versions. And also nonsteam OA is compatible with steam A2 (viper did this).

Got the Starwars: Jedi Knight pack. I'm loving this, since I planned on picking up just one of those games for double the price.

Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith
Dark Forces
Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II

I just went balls deep on the C&C 3 & Red alert stuff (though not on C&C4 as I heard it was godawful). Damn you Steam.

How compatible are they with XP?

Or are they like many of the other older games on Steam(older being Dark Forces and Jedi Knight Dark Forces 2) in that they need all sorts of tricks such as removing the folders from the Steam folder to get'em to run properly?

Edit: Just got ARMA2: OA, ARMA2: BAF and ARMA2: PMC from SprocketIdea.com, not sure I'll be able to play them anytime soon but these sales are too sweet to resist.

I cheated Amazon by using a Canadian credit card, but putting my address as 90210 california.

Grabbed the Stalker pack on Steam. Was waiting for CoP to go on special, this is good enough even though I already had SoC. :)

As did I.

I'm contemplating getting Dawn of Discovery on todays steam sale, but looking at this video, I think it may take up way too much of my time, considering how ****ing much expansion you can have.

DUDE.

Dude.

No really, get it. Anno 1404 / Dawn of Discovery (EU/US titles) is a ****ing excellent game. It's a REAAAAAAAAAALLY slow RTS with not much combat and a huge emphasis on economy. You have to set up supply chains and manufacture goods to satisfy your citizenry, who get more and more complex wants requiring more complex goods and manufacturing and longer supply chains. There are literally 50+ resources/goods in the game. I have saves that are like 20 hours or more in a single game. If you like really slow, in-depth economic/citybuilding focused strategy I strongly recommend it.

I wouldn't say it takes more time to play than the average Civ game though, on a day to day basis. I really love it though, it's one of my favorite strategy games of recent years. It's just intense.

I just bought a new gaming rig. :)

Vital specs:
AMD Phenom II X6 1075T
Asus EAH6950
4 gigs of Kingston DDR3 RAM

Well now its 30 bucks again, and I can't really afford that, with other games I want coming out soon too. I'll have to wait for a sale again, or for a lull in other releases I want.

Demons Souls (I've ordered this game like ten times every time I've had something else needing money so I've had to cancel)
Alan Wake
Little Big Planet 2
Sports Active 2

I'm too lazy to move my kinect from a wall mount from one room to the other, plus aswell the 360 has to register the kinect everytime you move it to another console.
