pretty cool. Didn't they say that 1984 wasn't an influence on HL2? If so, they must have read some other book because it has a pretty good big brother vibe going on.

the people saying it looks shit should be shot, its a tiny ass little version but with a little imagination you can get the impression desired by the trailer...which is awesome!
 
holy **** thats cool. i cant wait to see more stuff at higher res. the music is also very good. the animations of citizens, combine, striders, looks amazing. god, e3 will rock. too bad ill be at the strokes concert most of the day. oh well, that will be fun as hell. ill just need to catch up after the vids are released.

Actually, watching that again.. it was pretty cool :) The animations are spot on, and I didn't see any of the issues from some screens (more specifically, floating zombies)

It's also great to see enemies actually running at you/away from you and shooting

Someone send me the Hi-Res version on AIM: Mattis blah - and I'll host it over night with Get File on all night while I sleep so you can all download it from me if you want (45 KB/sec upload cable)
 
I like it. It's short so I hope this is only the beginning of a lot more, but the music is cool, the scenes are short and sweet (not overly spectacular) but give you a good idea of a few locations, the movemenet of characters and the overall atmosphere.

Yeah, I'm still wanting it, as badly as ever now

Last year was the tech demo, unveiling of Source technology, and Half Life 2 inital unveiling. That's the reason for the 15 minute demo.

I doubt that they'd release something that big this time round, to avoid giving too much away. Either way I'd like to see atleast a little more than whats in this trailer. It's a little too short.

As long as they annouce a firm *cough* release date, and hopefully drop some tidbits on mp I'm a happy camper! (no pun intended.)

I wouldn't worry about it. This video dates to the magazine visits, I think. Just like last year, when at midnight on the day before E3, IGN had a little preview trailer up that was very similar to this one. Then, the next day, they blew us all away with their real presentation.

I think that we'll be seeing a shit-ton of footage. I hope so.

This should be compared to last year's teaser, not the demo movies.

Under that light, it's pretty easy to conclude that this new teaser is the more interesting one.

I can host it on my http server, but i have only 19 gb bandwidth... that's raped within minutes. How about I host it for a while and then take it down again? by then enough people should have it to spread it further. msn me @ [email protected]

i cant get over just how good the atmosphere of even this little clip seems to feel. god im too excited. im going to bed, ill have a lot of reading to do in the morning.

i love the video but one thing always catches my eye. The train moving at the start just seems wrong. Maybe its the framerate of the video.
 
I hope someone will put up or link to a 'standard' download mirror, bittorent is useless for me.

No, it's the subtle similarities, the particular things you say and focus on. You just don't do a very good job at hiding it, silly backstory or no. Shrug. I don't see why you bother.
