Your reaching. I didn't crit anything. I said very simply that it wasn't impressive to me, but that it may be because of the low quality of the wmv.

The first scenes at the station weren't that impressive, looked a bit bland. The scenes with the chopper on the other hand were pretty damn amazing. Gotta love those sound effects! Great music too, fits really well.
 
Or even..When did they get this?

Was it shown at E3, or is something they just saved for release at this particular time.

It's that you just get greedy. You can't help but try to start off on the same point where you left off as another identity. It's like you want to give yourself away. "You're reaching" is a tipoff too, because it implies that we are trying to argue something you and we all know to be true, but you are denying that we "got" you good enough.

Statistical analysis of your word choice and common typos also makes you a strong match.

Would it really hurt so much to give up the ruse and stop wasting our time with all the hide-n-seek intrigue?

I agree, but, when is a trainstation not bland?
 
The character movement is so fluid. No more sliding and hovering.
And the background in the strider scene is not too bad either.

I'm using win98, but I don't see how that should matter.

Thing is, my cable connection only allows a 16 kB/sec upload and even when BT saps just 12 kB/sec away it grinds everything down to a halt.
So much so, that the last time I tried to dl through BT I couldn't even log in to another forum I frequent.
 
Apos, your looking for things that simply aren't there. You have already convinced yourself of what you want to believe, there doesn't seem to be any use in arguing with you. Believe what you will, just don't turn it into an issue.

Try using a better bittorent client.. try shadow2k's client, you can set your upload speed on that. 5kb/sec upload allows DLs at max speed AFAIK
 
Is this really a handycam job? I thought it was just a low quality vid...

yes...and the game sucks because of it....

I just noticed that when eli walks up to Alyx, there's a weird glowing hand moving in circles in the background on the right, I wonder what that is
 
Some more nitpicking: there are no shadows for the guys that are boarding the train at the beginning. How the hell did that happen? If the engine shadows all characters dynamically or whatever, then where did they go in this scene? Weird.
 
Meh, game looks a little bit plain at times from that wmv. no doubt gameplay will be great, but the graphics are very time of the mill if you ask me. trainstages looks incredible non the less.
 
The shadows are stencil shadows, which aren't really "shadowing" per se, but effects that can be on or off. Not clear why they would be "off" in that scene.
 
oooh, it's hard to tell, but one of those streets is shiny...the part with the strider. it's really hard to tell detail with the low res video though :(... but those cobble stones do have some polish to them it looks like :)

Thats a good call...and i wasn't arguing Apos but if you check the posts in a totally unbiased way they could be seen as fairly demented. Doesn't mean i don't agree i think he is using 'sock puppets' or whatever it's called to agree with himself, which is the weirdest loneliest saddest thing anyone could ever do.
