Appearantly, Nintendo has changed the controls for Zelda on Wii. At E3, players had to push the "B" button to make Link swing his sword; now Nintendo has made it so you swing the Wiimote, and it mimmicks your action on screen. Yep. That's right, the Wiimote will act like Link's sword!

I cannot wait for this fall! Zelda Twilight Princess GOTY 2006? You better believe it.

I just hope its not limited movement. I know the control has a full range of motion. I am just hoping that lets say I swing the controller sideways, and the sword only goes diagnol left/diagnol right, etc., on screen that is.

You realize that it's probably just going to translate into pre-canned animations based on the general direction you move the remote in right? I doubt you actually "swing" the sword yourself, but I hope I'm proved wrong.

EDIT: Shamrock pretty much said the same thing.

Yea, I figured. If not, it would look funky with half swings and a shaky sword all the time. But I still think it will be better than E3's control setup. I do think they will include both control setups in the final game though.

I'd almost rather just play Zelda with a normal controller.

Still though, I'm open to this being mayyyybeee the best Zelda game ever.

I'll probably get the Wii and GC versions. Then I have the ebst of both worlds. And TP to play on my Portable GC :cheese:

I won't do that unless one version is so painstakingly terrible that I can't take it. I mean, in the end, Zelda is Zelda.

Shh. When it comes to Zelda I can be as rich as I want.

wiimote...thats cute (not really a big wii fan so it's new to me).

yay! now its not just a lame add on to control navi.'

EDIT: I hope this doesnt delay the game :(

The Wii version is merely the GC version with minor graphical and major control tweaks. The Wii version should accept GC controller input.
I hope. :S

well you can still buy the GCN version and play it on your wii with a gamecube controller...but that's a little pointless

Can you believe I haven't played any of the latest Zelda games? Only the old ones for me, and the first one on n64. I think Ocarina of time.

Yep... Nintendo Revolution... Zelda... remote. Gotcha.

What the hell is a Wii?

OoT is my least favorite of the 3D Zeldas.

Having trouble picturing how you'd swing when Link was facing in other directions. Like in Red Steel, the movement is centred on you, so if you swing left then so will the sword. But the Zelda camera appears to go 360 degrees around the character, which will probably result in people just waggling the controller in random directions to swing. Seems less intuitive than a simple button press to me...

It's the same way you know to turn the wheel the other way when reversing in a car. I'm sure it'll be fine.

Can't wait tbh. To get a Wii and to get my first Zelda game :D

Lol. How geeky would you look prancing around using that to play on the Wii?
