Zombie Master!

*gasp*
Error: EOleException Connection failure when I try to get to site. Maybe I should try again now.
EDIT: worked.

http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/possession/
Developed on the "Flame" engine for next-generation consoles and PC systems, Blitz Games' Possession is a twisted action-RTS where you are an undead zombie looking to exact revenge on the humans who made you this creature. As The Enslaver, you control a mass of zombies, and can command the hoard or possess one of the minions to take control and unleash hell.
Does this sounds familiar to anyone?

Zomg Sue Them
And look at those screens. I mean, the first one: look at the Theatre. I just can't find the pun.

Wow that map is....underwelming.

I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts about the rest of the map, how well it plays, the special features. Anytime you're ready.

I, also, think the map sucks... and only beta testing it could change my mind. ;)

Funny guy right here, so when you going to be performing at the comedy club? :D

Well, since you put it like that. Just let me get these files and....hey, you're trying to trick me, aren't you?

Anyway, it's a WIP map representing about 6 total hours of work (and comprising a couple of city blocks). I'm not interested in opinions from anyone outside the ZM dev team, as harsh as that may sound.

Bear in mind that's the basic infrastructure. That's like the framework. A load more props and detail are going in, I think. :p

Plus it's rather more interesting when there are two dozen zombies chasing you through it.

me thinks since the overwhelming majority of this forum isn't part of the dev. team, it would be more efficient to show only the finished media.

You can distinguish the dev team by our awesome Noir portraits.

Also by our access to the alpha.

This is very true, except nothing we have could be said to be "finished". People ask for more news/information, and I give them a WIP screenshot. I'm not posting pictures of a map and asking for critiques - I've been doing this long enough that I like to think I know what I'm doing by now.

Better tell that to every other mod, that post progress on what thier doing.

Well since you never posted a download link for you mod there is only one way i can judge it. And that is from the screen shot you provided. I am not trying to diss your work or any such. It is just that when i first saw the screen shot, without any other gameplay or other elements to consider, i was reminded of a plain HL 2 map. No offence was really ment, i guess i just expected more than a barren street.

I know i will have to wait for more to come as you add more environmental features, enemies etc..

Just my opinion :)

Check the rest of this thread / other threads; you'll be able to dig up tons of screenshots. There's even a preview of the mod in the HL2.net Features > Editorials section.

the look of this reminds me a lot of the zombie map i was working on a while ago when i tried to get into using the sdk (keep in mind this is my first ever attempt at a map). i really hope your map turns out the way i had mine in my head:

YOU DARE MOCK ME??!?

Yes, yes i do. When someone posted "zomg site update". I was expecting a little more than a Star Trek reject struggling to have a shit. How about a archive with all your latest and greatest screen shots, or something alike?

How about you're not the one making the mod? How about 'website coming soon'? How about jokey placeholders are better than nothing? How about the team is taking the time to build a decent web site to replace what effectively amounts to a 'coming soon' page, and when that's up it's up, all at once? How about the team consider it better to spend their time actually coding and working and mapping as opposed to filling a flashy-looking web site full of concept art and unskinned renders?

EDIT: That kind of stuff, screenshots and the like, is for when there's actually a site. :p Anyway, it's not like anyone made a fuss about it. It's not like the ZM team went 'LOOK, NEW WEBSITE!' Boogyman (not working on the mod) just said 'oh look lol'. It's not like BIG ANNOUNCEMENT, HYPE, WHOAR!

Ok, i give up. I surrender.

What is it with Star Trek reject anyways? I thought they were serious about this mod?

A placeholder website is not the mod. We are absolutely serious about ZM development, which is why we only recently decided to even have a website - our first priority has been, and always will be, to make the mod work. We've been at a playable alpha stage for the past 3-4 months, and we're rapidly approaching the beta stage.
So, you'll forgive us if we decide to play around a bit with the temporary frontpage for the website.

Shush Pi, everyone knows that the website makes the mod.

Sorry, i meant no offence. I did smile when the page loaded. I had no idea it was a placeholder, so when the page loaded i thought the whole mod was a joke. But hey, that's just my opinion. I appreciate your efforts so far and i hope the mod turns out a crowd pleaser. I wish you all good luck!

That spinning head is Munro by the way.

Someone had it as his avatar some time ago. The guy that got banned, I can't remember his name atm.
