HL2 has been cancelled by Vivendi. However a new and exciting version of Gunman Chronicles 2 is being offered in it's place.

I thought DOOM3 was a perfect comeback for a classic game. It was true to the game, only better graphics. Bink videos are bink videos. How HL2 plays and looks and captures the storyline remains to be seen. Comparing DOOM3 and HL2 is not fair. They are two different games.

If Painkiller had good game play, it could have been a contender. The environments were very well rendered, but it was awful and easy to beat the game. It was also predictable. Far cry was excellent, but my comp could not do the game justice. Same for DOOM3. I need a new comp to play these...

LOL!!! I built an "ultimate Machine" for DOOM3 and HL2 a year and a half ago when both games were to be released. Now I have an expensive word processor. 3200-matched 512-9700pro-80g-ASUSmb

With Far Cry and DOOM3 released, just how is HL2 going to "blow us away"? Graphics? Gameplay? The original HL blew us away because of the story line. It was a game with a real story. That will be how they score, high or low.

Valve gets the game back in 6 months? I'm not privy to their contract with Vivendi, but the game is worth hundreds of millions. I doubt they are too stuck.
