Guarding the tunnel from the antlions. Very satisfying although I keep thinking "where's the minigun when you need one?"
And the final strider battle. The reactions from the rebels when you finally blow up 3 striders on the front door steps makes you feel you've actually DONE something...
I managed my "Half-Life blackout" for pretty much the entire year.
Ok... That's because I uninstalled steam and went back to Quake 4 and FEAR (ducks). I only knew about EP2 being released when Orange Box hit the shelves. I didn't even know anything about Portal back then. (Besides the fact that...
I tried importing another custom model (Bulma by nkinta). The final version of this model is dated 2005-Oct, way before EP2 is released. However all the forementioned "symtoms" does not exist with this model. The new lighting-shadow works pretty well.
The logical conclusion would be that the...
I don't know if there's anyone into EP2 modding so far...
Being a complete loser, I used to play the HL2+ series using a certain DOA model to replace Alyx ,from the 2nd playthrough and onwards. On EP2 however, I found out that the old player models seems to be incompatible to the new...
But HL2 took place on that other side of the planet. :P
(I'd like to know how life in USoA would be like under combine control, though.)
I think the big central rotor behind the cockpit is very cool, so is the "tiltable" tail rotor, which implies a lot of maneuverability.
Stupid moment: When I first found the "cave johnson" room, I was actually FREAKED out.
I don't know why but empty room filled with scribbles always give me the creeps. I can't sleep well after playing Silent Hill 3 even when everyone touted it as the most un-scary one in the series. Hell, I...
For a puzzle game, the default levels are pretty easy. The first 10 levels pretty much guide you through all the game mechanics in a very "hold-your-hand" manner. Some will require reflexes though, there are a few timed puzzles. Always mind your surroundings.
The real challenges comes from the...
The car welder who wants to go to Hawaii, the garden gnome, Gman sightings... And many others that I've lost count.
I'm still trying to get the squish all grub achievement.
I was about 10 grubs short on the 2nd playthrough, and missed 5 grubs on the third. :(
"Her" name was Chell. At least that's what everyone (including the credits) called her. Or, as GlaDOS put it, [subject name here]. :D
I'd die laughing the day when Chell told Gordon,
"You can call it an 'Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device', IF YOU REALLY WANT TO."
