yes i know how steam works and the gcf files are used, but im saying, when i install the game, and decrypt the files and validate it and all that crap, THEN it starts downloading it from 75%, which means another 900 meg or so...i dont actually want to download the entire game on my 56k, i bought...
if anyone wants i have models and front-on screenshots of all the original weapons, including the ice-axe, fire extinguisher, oicw, ak47, molotov cocktails, throwing-headcrabs, and all this other shit that used to be in the game.
thanks a lot for replying, but when i go to delete game content, the game gets grayed out in the list and i cant play it. also, i never had automatic update on for it, but it still tryed to update somehow.. anyway, i still appreciate your help :)
does anyone know if there is a way to pause downloads on steam (or even better, stop hl2 from downloading 900 meg of itself every time its installed? i have 56k, it would help to know this) anyway, thanks for your time, i know i ask a lot of questions :D
yeah there was a hacked gameinfo.txt someplace in this forum that lets you view all the v_ and w_ half-life2 models (in fact every hl2 model). im not sure where it is but it works for me.
the reason i upgraded my computer and bought hl2 was all for one thing, the physgun, its all i wanted when i got the game and its all i want now :P. i have all the weapon models from the leak including the original physics gun from the e3 gameplay promo, (i dont actually have the game, just the...
oh yeah i remember that part, your probably talking about the last laser in front of the button, that took me a minute or so to figure out, theres a block or something that you have to jump on, its very close to a laser and it looks a bit like you wouldnt be able to fit on it without touching...
hey mr redundant, you the one from ts forums i played with a few times on an aus server? :D
anyway yeah, i agree with spartan, its fun, but like the single player hl2, its flawed (more flawed than single player) but still...yeah...cheeeeeese..
Ive had several problems with steam downloading hl2 as ive mentioned in other threads, but there is another one ive only recently realized of. I've installed hl2 into my steam folder located at 'D:\steam' right, but the first time steam started downloading hl2 from scratch and i couldnt get into...
yep, identical problem here too (except that hl2 is trying to download itself for the second time, but ive already complained about that in my other thread). surely hope its fixed soon.
yeah thanks man, i just realized that after i read through the top few while waiting for a reply to this. i know people cant get into games, but why must i continue to download a game that i bought? even after i already downloaded it once..
