Here's the second part of the event, by Grendel.
PART THREE:
The gate swung open and all of the zombies shambled out. They started pawing people in the crowd. Then this big dude with a black goatee and war paint on his face jumped up on a little platform in the middle of all of us and...
I stole this from the Shacknews forums. A fine fellow named "Grendel" posted this. Show him respect! It mostly describes the ATi event, since not much new information was released.
Here's the original post. Keep on clicking through the replies for the stuff down here...
Extended version meaning...with mods? Would we have to pay more?
Heck, I'll just download the user-made ones. Mods should always be bloody free, I say!
Oooh, Bridger...I hope you're right.
Now that you mention it, STeve from Shacknews did say that Valve was having some technical difficulties with e-mail.
It *could* be a hoax.
But that's one elabourate hoax. Who hates nerds enough to do this?!?
Let's call the Hardy Boys! Or Nancy Drew!!!
Ack. I'm really disappointed. I thought that for once, a gaming company was going to live up to their claims of a finishing date.
I wouldn't mind *at all* if it was a week or two, but two months seems ridiculous. I mean...they were *WAY* off base for this game being finished. Man.
As much as I want to decry him for his unprofessional manner, he *would* get flamed far too much, and it wouldn't at all be worth it for any of us to have him on the boards with such rampant attitudes.
That said, there shouldn't be any problems like this whatsoever: EVERYONE should be civil...
Perhaps they will have a system similar to the one that Microsoft has in place right now for Windows XP - just a small fraction of money for another CD-key.
Like $10.00 or so.
In order for this to work, there would be a limit of 1 extra CD-key per CD, or so...otherwise people could just...
Whoa...that's scary. Seems like there are some security issues.
Maybe that is what VALVe is working on.
If not...then HIDE THIS THREAD, or they'll decide they have to fix it!!! :)
Hmmm...my general consensus from reading the recent e-mails and the recent information is that HL2 will be *extremely* close to the September 30th release date at the very most. There's no way that if a delay is a plausible outcome, that it would be for very long.
Either way you swing it...
