Ruin the game?
Let's see. The benchmark will not show you any new footage. It will play some scenes (dx9 video, strider, buggy, etc...) in real time, so your machine will render the scene, but no new footage.
How can this ruin the game?
Even if it's an old game, the story and the atmosphere is great. You should buy it if you want to know the full history and have a better experience with HL2.
This is the reason why I'm a little glad, because I'll buy a new videocard around november thanks to my birthday, and if it's released in december, I can use the christmas presents to buy a better one
Well, the October 30th is 'before Christmas' :P
Now, seriously, I think that it will be released in the Half-Life 5th anniversary. And I'm saving some money for a new videocard, so I prefer november as it's my birthday the 4th
Here are the 3 first stages.
From left to right:
- When the headcrab attaches.
- The one seen in HL2 pics without opened chest.
- The typical zombie with the opened chest.
- The Gonome.
Then, in the OP4 first level, there's one stage left (ignoring the 3rd and 4th stage).
Headcrab attaches > Zombie without opened chest > Zombie with opened chest > Genome > ?????
It seems that the one at the left is one of the guys who fight with you against combine in the barricade video. The right one may be a scientist, but I think that the "mouth" thing could be caused by the type of headcrab.
I don't know which could be the 3rd type, maybe the Genome.
In Unreal 1, there was 3 types of music for each level. There was the "action" one, the "normal" one and another one I don't remember. The music changed depending of the situation, so I think HL2 will use this system but much better.
yes, it's right because they can do anything they want, and I prefer to wait until I have the game and discover all the great things than having a demo and discover some of them.
