Ditch 9600 Pro and get an AIW 9700 Pro, it costs a bit more than the 9600 Pro, but atleast you can tell your dad that you can use it for Video (editing, encoding, TV recording and what not). Plus, you get the gaming performance of a 9700 Pro. Anyway... good luck. Hope you get what you want :)
