that's odd... I have that option there. I think you could also force Vsync-off mode from the nVidia drivers but i'm not sure, though you might wanna double-check about the advanced options thing...

did you check the key bindings in the control menu? Although I can't think of a reason for them do just change all of a sudden...

Disabling Vsync - When in HL2 main menu, go into options, then video, than advanced, than make sure Vsync is set to off there. About the drivers - i guess you could try to put it on 'automatic identification by windows' or something like that (I don't know how this is written in the english...

My computer being bad has nothing to do with this issue... As horrible as it is, it is fully capable of running hl2. In dX 9. So plz try to be helpful....
