so its faster to send 1000's of CD across the world than it is to send one, and print them in the country they are to be distributed?

they dont even ship the CD's, they just send a master to each country for pressing. there is no excuse why some countries should get it later, other than the US wanting to have everything first.

i grabbed the strider and coastline vids and they seem, well, not that great anymore. especially coastline after having played FarCry.

i just got the strider vid and its seemed to play at 800x600 or it was 640 resized.

that new footage that wasnt new was new, just the same level played slightly differently.

once the cpu can do the AI, and other CPU dependent features, u only need slight increases to keep up with the gfx card. hl2 will be limited by gfx cards so the sound isnt an issue with the fast processors that are around.

yes its about balance until a certain level is reached. so if u have a 1gb ram, 3ghz cpu then the gfx card will probably be the bottleneck.

the only ppl who would be able to affoard one would be kids that arent working. but even then, a game is at least twice as much as the drive.

id like it on DVD. i hate installing from 4-5 cd's and having to swap em all the time. plus with dvd drives so cheap now ppl can upgrade.
