The run map option should be full compile. Make sure vrad and vvis are set for 'full' or whatever, that should be all you need....
If you want more advanced settings, you can use the 'expert' options, if that's what you mean. Change command line params and all that...
If it's not, try...
It's most likely a commnad line program. That is, you atually have to type in stuff to use it (or use a batch file one you've figuread out the process).
Open a dos prompt and try running it. Good way to do this, if you're too young to remeber all those dos commands: ;)

what persistant bitching? :dozey:
:P
If you're making a mod, you can have multiple seperate 'channels':

As a mapper for existing mods this is not possible, though.
Hehehe. that's what happens with thread hijacks. :P
The interior wall and floor textures don't seem to fit, IMO. Especially in comparison to that white window/door thing.
The overall design seems a bit bland. Hard to tell without seeing it, but it doesn't look like a lot of...
don't diss someone just because they make an aim_ or fy_ map... I prefer the gameplay of aim and fy maps, and lots of other people do too.
Is it used an excuse for crummy mapping abilities? Yes, but that's beside the point.
...Of course, that map does look like absolute shite, TBA.
It helps texture alignment on inside faces, sometimes. If you have a non-mitered joint (butt-joint, in cabinetry terminology :)), you have a face being partially occluded by the adjacent brush. If you are using 'fit' to align you textures, this counts for something....
I like mitering, just...
Just to point out that the textures don't have to be embedded. You can also create a .res file, that when placed on the server tells the client what files need to be downloaded. Cant find the tut. link I was looking for, but I'm sure you can find one if you look.
That said, embedding with...
oh, dammit. lol. I just found those names....
can't explode 'em, but you can light them on fire
or kill them and make them disappear, lol. that might be useful.
as an aside... kinda interesting, if I break a window with an hegrenade, the grenade is the !activator, but...
in cs:s it's weapon_hegrenade, same as an unthrown one, I think. Not sure about that..
They don't respond the same as dropped weapons though, but I can't remember exactly how so.
I knew this, yes, but haven't tested the limits. Probably integer only... :? Although it would be fun to have tiny guys on a live map 3d skybox too.. :P
Ah... maybe that'd be too silly anyway.
Hahaha... I think he meant clip, the texture, not clip, the tool.
Clip brushes (i.e. world brushes with the 'clip' tool texture applied) are brushes that block player moverment. Pretty much two usages:
1) Block the player from going places they should not go
I personally find this...
I play on a server, the admin does that sometimes... it makes me play bad, I get rather distracted, all LMAO and everything...
I'd like to do a 1:1 skybox (I think that's possible, haven't tried) with a replicated map. Guys running around, but you cant shoot 'em. lol.
the biggest difficulty comes in trying to modify things. You think: "oh, maybe if I jsut move this over here a little tiny bit..." but if it's between grid-lines, your messed.... (Actually, I guess, if you were careful the first time, you could just scale it up again. :|)
just about...
make one brush that is 1 unit wide. make another brush 4 units wide. place them side by side, and select both. when you scle the brush that is 4 units to 1 unit, the one unit brush is 1/4 of a unit.
placement is very much a painintheass of course, so it's better to build the whole thing at...
In your Windows Explorer, go to: Tools > Folder Options. Select the View tab. Uncheck 'Hide extensions on known file types'
That might be the problem. This is WinXP btw, I've forgotten if it's any different under Win9x.
Also, some text editors automatically append '.txt' to a file, no...
hmm. I'm surprised you would spawn at all... I would think it would give an 'invalid spawn location' error or whatever, that's what it would do in CS:S . interesting.
meh. I didn't notice it changed for a day or so.... I can't dislike it too much :cheese:
I'm with this guy though...
...sneaky ;) I didn't notice till I quoted. That's the prblem!
