It doesn't need to look like those. If GoW looked like Halo3 but played exactly the same it would be absolutely horrible. But, if Halo3 looked like GoW it would be pretty darn horrible too. You have to actually play H3 (Which I have now) before you can talk. In saying this, I am disappointed...

What's the 'Missilepod' and just how good are the portable turrets ? Is it like other games were the machinegun (Whatever) takes a couple of seconds to 'spin up,' is there lots of recoil, range, etc ?
