Steam sucks.
I already expressed what I feel about that hidden 400 meg file it puts on your system for no apparent reason - I'm sorry, but downloading a 400+ meg program for a couple of movies is just dumb. Unless you play CS1.6, don't get Steam. The movies are avaliable on every site virtually...
He's right, 1024MB = 1 GB. That's why when you buy a harddrive the size it shows in windows is always smaller than the size you were supposed to get (for example, a 20 gig hard drive has somewhere around 18.6 gigs of space, a 40 gig hard drive has somewhere around 37 gigs of space, etc.). Has...
While usually I would vote for storyline, I think I would love Half-Life 2 even if it storyline would be somewhere along the lines of "quick, the world has ran out of Soda, and it's up to you to replenish it by killing thousands of aliens who stole all the soda for their intergalactic fuel!"...
Yeah, temp while the damn program is installed.
Uninstall = problem solved.
BTW, 400 meg may not be a big deal for you, but if you got 10-15 gigs thats way too much space, especially considering people need to make room for porn ;)
YES, it is bad, who the hell said they can pump my hard drive full of bullshit I don't need? That really pisses me off, I would be OK with it if during instalation I would've been notified that 'in addition to the program, Steam also installs 400 MB of cache files', but did they do that? NO.
My god steam is such a piece of shit...
For some reason even after I downloaded the movie and deleted it it still left a 400 meg cache. I'll just get the rest of the movies from http's, not going to abuse my poor PC by infesting it with the evil which is steam. ;p
Yep, same here. I'll trust the videos even exist *only* when I see them avaliable for download. Not to mention that the release dates we were given by Valve were just as bogus as any other release date we got from Efficient or the guy in the alley behind the pizza place.
