Why don't you get a Radeon or GeForce? the rest of your PC is very nice, it's a shame it's all going to waste with such a video chip ;)
You can get a geForce Ti 4600 or a Radeon 9500 pretty cheap now.
Hrm.
I played the Doom 3 alpha months ago, and while I was getting extremely low FPS (duh), the game still was incredible, even back then. I don't see the point in comparing Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 - they will both rock, each in it's own merits.
Of course Deus Ex 2 ownz both of them though ;)
^^^^^
I agree with you. There has never been a good game>movie conversion, and I don't want one of the best franchises in the gaming world to be ruined by some lackluster action thriller probably starring Colin Farrel or Eminem.
Get off my porch!! :)
Did you not read my post?
There is absolutely NO use for a DVD drive at the moment, *if you have a portable DVD player*. What am I going to do with it? I wouldn't pay 10$ for a DVD drive right now, not until more games will start coming out that support the media. I actually really hope games...
Reminds me of George Brussard of 3Drealms...
"Duke Nukem Forever is going to rock 1999!"
"If Duke Nukem Forever isn't out by 2001, something is terribly wrong".
What did we learn from this? That's right kids, it's better to be tight lipped and work on the game than to publish stuff like...
I only got a CD, no point in having a DVD in my computer, as I really prefer watching DVD movies on the big screen TV instead of the 17 inch monitor ;)
Currently DVD's are useless anyway, unless you don't have a portable DVD. It's not like there are too many games using DVD anyway.
Consider yourself lucky then, heh. Every PC that I tested had serious problems running Unreal 2 above 15 FPS, other than those equipped with Ti 4600 and Radeon 9500 and above.
Store of course... I will never pay for downloadable content, that just my pet peeve I guess. I want to get something physical when I pay, the manual, the box, the CD's, not the rights to download a game over and over again.
The thing is, the graphics card is bottlenecked by the very poor components. I seriously doubt you will be able to enjoy Half-Life 2, with today's prices you can get a new MOBO, a nice processor and some RAM for 250-300$, and I guarantee you it will pay off in the long run.
Yeah you keep telling that to yourself. Unreal 2 is the most demanding FPS you can get, 'running' it on a GF2MX is a joke. Actually every Unreal Warfare powered game I tested (Unreal 2, UT2K3, Raven Shield...) *requires* a monster of a PC to play smoothly with the settings turned up.
I'm...
