That's about the best way to describe how I felt about HL2 after beating it.
It was good, but I expected it to be better. I felt that the graphics were amazing at times and sub-par at other times. The story was lame to non existant, and I would have preferred the ability to kill...
I missed the exploratory type areas that were in Half Life 1. Things tended to be more slow paced and puzzle oriented in these areas. Half Life 2 seemed to be way too much action oriented. it was fun playing it, but I guess I just expected more. I may get trashed for saying this, but I think...
there is a crack out there that decrypts the files without internet. I won't tell you where, but I know because I have used it to play my PURCHASED copy of HL2. It does have problems, like you have to rename some files so that some of the levels will load and when you do that the roller...
While activation might be a minor inconvenience to some, I have had the game since Nov 16th and still haven't played it because I don't have internet at home. I have gone to great lengths to try to get the game to work, but I've pretty much given up now. I guess I'll have to get internet after...
But it seems that there are other files that are not installed from the cd, that must be dled from steam during activation of your cd key. I'll try to go find this on the steam forums, but I was sure that something had to be decrypted or dled during activation.
edit: nm, the steam forums...
I guess we already know that it requires internet for singleplayer, but I guess I have some vain hope that this isn't true or there is some way to work around this. I have a nice computer, but because of my current circumstances I dont have internet at home (no phone line either, only my cell)...
how can I use AOL when I don't have phone line? If there was a way to hook my computer modem through my cell phone to the internet, I would certainly do it, but I can't. I'm just SOL and will have to wait for a no steam crack that I can burn to cd or disk and install on my pc at home.
Here's my problem:
I have a good computer, but no internet. I don't even have a land line at my apartment because I have a cell phone so I have no need for it. The only internet access I have is at my office at school. I guess I'll be downloading a no-steam crack just so I can play a game...
My favorite beer is Weihenstephaner. It's kind of hard to find; I haven't had it in over a year since I moved to Arizona, but the brewery that makes it (in Munich, I think) has been around since 1045 AD or something close to that. They claim to be the oldest brwery that is still in...
Well, I don't have an internet connection because I'm a graduate student (which I means I make about just enough money to pay rent and other ESSENTIAL bills, plus I'm just about to get married so I have to save for the honeymoon). I don't have enough money to afford internet other than dial-up...
I thought the exact same thing. All they have to do is slap a few maps together and all they'd have to be are a few slightly modified single player maps. Give me a break. CS was sure as hell fun for a while, but after about 4 years of playing it I simply had to give it up. I doubt I'll play...
I just remember how promiscuity was encouraged in Brave New world. THe complete opposite was true in Orwells' vision of a future totalitarian government - I remember it being mentioned that couples couldn't marry in Oceania if a marriage board thought there was actual physical attraction...
that'll be lame if they sit on HL2 until a court decision is made on this lawsuit. Maybe that's why Gabe mentioned the RC was sent to VUG so that fans won't be angry at Valve if the game doesn't come out for months.
