Asus is usally the one smart about PSUs (and most other things on hardware) There's like some kind of special thing to look at on the PSUs that really define what makes them good or not, like the voltage or something. I'll be damned if i can remember.
go on kazaa lite, do a search for "porn", let the search go for about an hour, download everything that comes up, then repeat the search for "friends" and download everythign that comes up, then you should be able to fill that in about a week.
PCI Express is the replacement for AGP, it's a PCI slot that is like super charged. I think it can pull double the speed of the AGP 8x if i remember correctly. It's part of the new BTX boards.

I know this might be wishful thinking, but is there any free operating systems out there that provide good support for most main line games and programs? I've been researching other OSs but it's hard to tell if i should go with a linux dirivitive or are there other options that are better...

Gorgon was talking about looking for a tutorial online. Those are usally made seperate from microsoft, just people trying to help other people with step by step instructions. The help does suck, but an online tutorial might be exactly what you need.

Go to display properties.
Start>settings>control Pannel>display
Then you'll have all sorts of tabs at the top, click on monitor, then you should have a drop down box to select frequency. There ya go.
though i would follow the other peoples advice on checking to see if your monitor can...
Yea and HL2 won't really need much more CPU power, a 2.4 and a 3.2 are going to get about get about the same performance if they're on the exact same system. The major point is the GPU, Graphic Processing unit, which HL2 really relys on.
So based on that i doubt they'd really have a reason...
