Possible Speaker Problem - Please help!

Yep, that's why we suggested you test the speakers on a non-computer source. Gotta figure out what's not the problem by isolating it, and then once you have what the problem is figured out, then you can try to find the solution.

    question about ADSL modem/router

Sometimes with ADSL you'll need to actually configure the router, hopefully you kept all the documentation. With a cable connection it's usally pretty straight forward, I'm a little rusty on my memmory so i might be wrong on my terms, but i think it needs to be set up for PPOE or something for...

And the problems just keep piling on...

I don't think it's 2000 Pro that's your problem, i've played all those games on my system and i have 2000 Pro and 9800 Pro AIW, so pretty simmilar to your stuff. Do you have all the windows updates installed? And you have the most recent DirectX installed?

Possible Speaker Problem - Please help!

Yea it sounds like a sound card issue, Live! had a lot of stupid issues. Like Shuzer said try hooking the speakers up to something else, i usally use a CD player or MP3 player, that'll tell you if it's the speakers or the card.

    Weird windows popup

Yea it probably looks like an anoying virus you have on your system, check your currently running programs and look for a weird one running, then do a google search on the name of the process. If you can't figure it out get a virus scanner and get it up to date and that SHOULD take care of it...

    Strange huh?

I doubt they'd rebuild it, it's still ground breaking and new and they've pumped a lot of money into the engine, and a lot of research to make it backward compadable. With HL1 it makes sense that they did a redesign, after all, they were using the original quake engine as the base and it wasn't...

    Sound Card Blues

A word of advice on upgrading your mobo now though, in about 3-6 months companies are going to start comming out with the BTX boards, which are going to both add new features if you want top of the line, and drive down the prices of the ATX boards, so if you want to wait you could get either...

    BIOS Update

Yep you can definately update your bios, though it's usally only a good idea if it's a big update to how the board is being run or you're having problems with your current version, otherwise it could cause a lot of annoying issues. And on the question, R1.06 is probably going to have all the...

    Sound Card Blues

Hmm sounds like a strange problem. These are just some basic questions i have for ya about it. You've tried changing the PCI slots and sound card, so have you reinstalled the drivers for each one? And have you uninstalled the drivers for the original sound card? The original drivers could...

    Tiny Bootable OS...

Lets be honest though, any good cracker is going to be able to bypass security on a PC anyway without this program. I mean, problem most crackers have is breaking security on a remote computer, a bootable OS isn't going to fix any of the major issues. On an unrelated note, this would have...

    Operating System Question

yea 2000 Pro is the most stable windows system out there, followed closely behind by XP, anything before that and you're just going to run into more problems.

    Tiny Bootable OS...

This thing seems pretty good, you can bypass all protection on a computer that is OS based and get right to the programs. This is good for hacking from a public computer i'm sure, but it's also great from a trouble shooters point of view. Say windows is totally crapping out, and you can't run...

    Weird sounds

If it's the power supply fan you can usally get at it with a skrewdriver, i hear it's not too hard, though you will void the warrenty of the fan, and if you do it haphazzardly you could skrew up the wiring, the best bet is to get an entirely new PSU if that's the case. To test if it's the...

Mr Badger, you mean is NOT responseable :P Oh yea, i didn't read the instructions too deeply, if you don't know about your registry, don't go skrewing with it if you can avoid it. Try seeing if you can find a way to get the virus scanner to run before windows loads all the programs. Also if...
