Aren't some of them already wearing little beanie style snowcaps? If you use your imagination, maybe they could be yarmulkas... :D
Sorry if I mispelled that there...
I ran into something similar near the lighthouse. I hopped down the onto the cliff ledge, but then I heard gunfire from above. I was able to jump back into the lighthouse's basement door and go back up outside ready to kick some ass. Well, what do I see? Random gunfire sounds coming from...
Cool, I did see him there, but I just thought it was a resistance member. When I went into the house there was a body so I figured that he got killed when the headcrab transport thing crashed there.
I also saw him where you shoot down the chopper in the lake...didn't get a screen shot though...
One very important thing to note about Gamespot's reviews. You'll notice that all of those 10/10 reviews are pre-2002. You'll also notice that, in 2002, they started giving out editor's choice awards to games that scored higher than 9.0/10. When they made that change, they also revamped their...
So that all of the reviews will be out close to the time that the game comes out.
It's not really a big security concern because all reviewers of games are required to sign a non-disclosure agreement stating that they will not mention anything about the game or release their review until a...
I can't imagine that Valve wouldn't have ability to unlock certain individuals' Steam accounts and allow reviewers to play the game that way. That's kind of a huge part of a system like this!
PS - Where is this countdown? I'm not seeing it on gamespot's main page anywhere...
Wouldn't work with most bullets as they're instant hits, but there are some cool uses for this stuff!
I'll be staying up late quite a bit in the weeks to come!
You can pretty much guarantee that all of the major internet reviewers have had their review copies for several weeks now. Steam can definitely unlock HL2 on people's systems on case by case basis for those that are authorized to use it already.
I do remember hearing, though, that no online...
Retail stores in Australia will be open at that time...it doesn't make much sense for Australians to be able to buy the game but then have to wait until 6:00 PM PST to activate, now does it... :E
If HL:S gets unlocked over Steam prior to HL2 coming out, I'll probably play it, otherwise, it'll wait until after HL2. I don't see myself ever playing a game on the original HL engine again...unless DoD:S is still a while off.
Wow! How much crap do you put on your computer to make it bog down after 2 months? I can usually easily go 9 months between formats and I thought I loaded a bunch of random software...
Anyways, nope, I won't be reformatting for HL2. I've got a designated Gaming username which has all of...
Not to troll or anything, but I don't see why getting the game free with a video card would entitle you to getting it before everyone else. I'm not saying that I wouldn't be wishing the same thing if I was in your shoes, but I'm just a little curious to hear your reason...besides Vivendi not...
Well done coZ, you now have more posts in this thread than the vast majority of the other posters!
Congratulations to Valve on a game well done! We'll be playing in just over 4 weeks on!
Thanks! Was it a quote on a board somewhere or something? I'm assuming he just stated that they had to wait until the release and not the specific date.
Unless, of course, he said it today...
Thanks Private, I was just wondering what your source was for that info. I had been curious about what the NDAs said in that regard and hadn't seen any other info around.
Thanks!
I really doubt that HL:S is tied up in any agreement to release HL2 on the same day in retail and on Steam, especially if CS:S wasn't included in such a contract. A couple of weeks to play through HL:S before HL2 would be fun, but it would also probably take away a little bit of the awe from...
