i don't know WHAT part of sydney you live in, but everyone i know would be able to at least play hl2 at minimum requirements.
australia is in no way behind in the 'computer scene'.

well, as far as i know, the 512mb versions of the geforce 6800 and the radeon x800 are coming out towards the end of this year
also, it's my understanding that for it to be considered to be a new generation, it needs to be a bigger leap than just more memory. think about the 9800 xt being one...
i don't know the exact reason, but the measurements for different chips aren't the same. so a p4 at 2.0 ghz is not the same an an amd at 2.0 ghz.

ok, so this is my last year at school, and in about 4 or 5 weeks or so is the yr 12 farewell assembly. every year there is a video photo montage thing where photos fade in and out with some music.
