this can be done easily, it has been in dod for a while where your arms are different by team and stuff, and that was the HL1 engine. there is no reason why they cant do it in CSS.
yes, it is. Those are all playable demos with levels from the game. this is a ~1 minute flyby benchmark. I think anyone should be able to download it on steam also, but it's nothing like a playable demo.
