go trawling through gcfscape looking at various kinds of files ina texteditor to look for references to 'texinfos'. Sounds like a material thing, but I dont' know that much about materials yet. I don't see any texinfo's referenced directly in dm_lockdown.vmf, so I doubt it has anything to do...
first you need to understand the concept of entities and how you connect entities with input and output.
second, the entity you want for the button is called func_button. You'll connect its output to an input of another entity, func_rotating, which will be your moving door. You'll want to...
you guessed right about fullbright. That's the setting so that you see everything without lighting (which means nothing is dark either).
Are you sure you're compiling the map with VRAD on? Try the normal setting, not the extra one.
Maybe you can edit a the old levelchange entity, or kill it and spawn a new one. But how would you know the name of the trigger that does this if you don't have the original map file?
ok, I don't know anything about using the console to spawn things but I DO know that the entity is called "playerloadsaved" NOT "player_loadsaved". I typed it that way the first time for a reason :) Other than that, I don't know how to help with what you're doing.
EDIT: oh, I get what you're...
yeah, this is pretty easy I think:
one invisible brush which Gordon actually stands on that slowly skins: this should reset so that if the player falls back in, he isn't immediatly down to his neck in sand.
the fake visible ground. You could make this a deformable terrain if you want it to...
ok, anyone have the "restart" command work for them? it's extremely useful if you haven't tried it. Takes much less time for the map to reload compared to typing "map name" again
Not quite. I'm very sympathetic to people still stuck on dial-up because I was one of them until 18 months ago. You can have a high-end PC anywhere, but some places (even very populated suburbs like mine was) just don't have broadband.
What you're describing sounds like a physic_cannister entity.
So when you ran the map with all those explosions in the game, did it perform OK, or did it just perform badly when you tried to make a movie (which you fixed with the smoothing option).
did we already see the headcrap "queen" in hl1, What's-its-name? I have troulbe believing the necessity of having to use headcrabs for reconnaissance. It's not exactly like they're ingocnito because the combine eliminates any infestations that get too near to their operations.
What's a gonarch?
