I think Fakefactory Cinematic Mod is the ownage.
I always recommend to people that if they want to play HL2 a second time, they go through it again with the cinematic mod.
To me, personally, it looks great, and sharpens the game up quite a bit with a subtle, fresh new look that maintains the...
ROFL at both.
- Wait... so, you can kill him without cheats... in a natural way...
So... HE'S DEAD!!1 FINISHED!! THATS THE END!!!!
From now on, Gordon is on his own. No more pre-prepared path... No more ironic solutions to getting unstuck... No more lambda symbols showing the way...
When you have a question, always ask Wikipedia

Okay, so it doesn't have the answer this time... but it still has some pretty useful information about Valve, which might help with your class.
I'm just curious where you guys get your HL2 files. I know about Fileplanet and Filefront (which I like better than Fileplanet in every way, shape and form - thank you, thank you), but I assume there are other popular sources that I'm just not aware of.
The reason I ask is because I just...
Ravenholm was one of my favorite chapters. The transition from Black Mesa East to Ravenholm was one of the coolest, most atmoshperic moments I've ever played in a game. When Dog closes the door and isolates you in the tunnel, and you realize you have to go to the dark, mysterious "we dont go...
Ive been playing HL2 games (HL2, HL2DM, CSS, mods, etc) just fine for years, but ever since a few days ago, every time I go to the server browser of any game, all of the columns are scrunched over on the right side, so I cant read them (with the exception of the Server Name field). In order to...

Only a human appraiser can truly evaluate the worth of a website in cash.
So, if I understand it, a website that's part of a web-ring is worth 10x more than the same website that ISNT part of one, even if it gets more traffic.
Sounds interesting, but I would recommend having the CPU control the monsters, and not humans. Unless the monsters are considerably dynamic and have a highly interesting arsenal of weapons/items, I think it could get pretty boring to control them.
If you observe each type of monster in UT2004's...
I recommend modding for a game that has similar textures/models to the mod you want to make (like HL2, FEAR, Crysis, etc) so that you can work with the existing content. Otherwise, you'll find that you practically need to create a whole new game. Dark Messiah is all about very old-style...
I'm pretty sure most engines that have "power of 2 textures" can go pretty much up to any tex size, as long as it's a power of 2... at least in the Quake and Unreal engines.
I really like all the changes being made to CSS.
I was hoping they'd really increase the price of the AWP/Auto in the next update, but alas, instead the lesser-used weapons are being priced LOWER for some reason, even if having them active in a match can strike up such a loud whining storm due...
Just create a batch compiler. All you need is notepad, and it works great.
Just make a file called whatever.bat, and paste this text into it (replace paths and filenames with your info):
Full compile:
Fast compile: (should take about 1/5 as long as full, depending on map)
You can make one...
Ah. I figured it out. I removed three massive hint brushes that chopped my entire map into what were supposed to be large leafs (one that shopped off all the rooftops, one that chopped off both X-axis sides of the main, central building, and one that chopped off the two Y-axis sides - all of...
I had the impression for the longest time that most of HL2's main level textures were 1024x1024, but when I look through the textures in Hammer, it says most of them are only 512x512.
Is that for real, or is something wrong?
