I think the reason Valve had to delay the release of Half Life 2, is due to the fact that ATi forced them to wait so they can get the RADEON 9800 XT ready. I understand that this new model has been officialy announced, but probably due to some internal delay they had to make sure that this...
Sorry, help me out here, so are you saying that HL2 won't be released on the 30th? (sorry if it has been asked/discussed for the millionth time already)
Is this the one that has been used by various sites to benchmark the performance of ATi and nVIDIA cards? Or something new?
I understand that it is a "stand-alone" thing, (like 3DMark®03 Benchmark utiltiy) and not like Unreal Tournament 2003's Benchmark that requirs the full retal game...
What they could possibly fit on a DVD? It is not MGS2 Substance after all.
Besides, it has to have the PC/DVD-ROM Logo imprinted on the retail BOX, othewise it will be the normal CD (2 or 3 I guess).
The $10 montyly fee version is a rip-off. Multiplayer games should be free. Look at Unreal Tournament and Quake III Arena success. If Vavle do this they will lose costumers.
The 256MB version has been throughly reviewed and we already know what are its specs:
380 MHz core speed.
700 MHz Memory DDR II.
This clock speed is slightly faster than the 680 MHz of the 128-MB Radeon 9800 Pro, and allows for a slight increase in overall bandwidth.
The XT is...
I understand that it has higher clock speeds, but aside from that feature how does it stack against the RADEON 9800 Pro (either 128 or 256MB)?
Is it any better? (smaller die, DDR-II memory, etc.)
Many thanks in advance.
