It seems like this game has had no buzz whatsoever, even though it is coming out in a couple of weeks (August 18th). Was it even on E3? Anyway, there is a new video out:

The singleplayer looks a tad generic, but pretty cool nonetheless. I also hadn't seen the bullet time feature. Looks pretty neat. I am more interested in the multiplayer portion of the game though. I do hope it has more than the 16 players that were announced earlier.

Never heard of it. Didn't even know it was in production.

And what the hell. Is that Wolfenstein or doom. All my memories of Wolfenstein 3d and Return to Castle Wolfenstein weren't supernatural at all. I mean yeah they touched on the supernatural a bit, but maybe my memory of those moments are expunged.

I'll always be hyped for Wolfenstein as it was the first fps I fell in love with and because rtcw is still the best multiplayer fps there has been. The hype may quickly turn into teeth gnashing and naughty words is they **** it up, though.

Not particularly hyped but I'll play it, always had a special place in my heart for Wolfenstein since it started me in FPS gaming and nostalgia is quite strong given that I was only 5 or 6 when I was playing it.

I love myself some Raven software, they're located only an hour away from me. If it's anything akin to RtcW I'll be picking it up for 360 and PC for the multiplayer alone.

Many awesome enemies including Nazis and the undead(zombies). Check. Many powerful weapons. Check. Awesome run and gun gameplay. Check. WW2. Check. Epic story mode. Check. Slow mo and going through walls. Check

Never played the wolfensteins but it looks like an awesome game nevertheless. I might consider getting it.

I'm not hyped either - but come on, it's a Raven Software game

Yeah, I have a lot of nostalgic feelings for Wolfenstein as well. It must be one of the longest running franchises in gaming. Castle Wolfenstein was one of my favourite games when I was a kid.

Yeah, that's the problem.

what? raven software did some amazing games back in 90s - take no prisoners (still one of my fav games), sof, elite force, hexen/heretic series

Yeah and what have they done lately? I HATE Raven software for 2 simple reasons: 1) They did a horrendous job with Quake 4 and 2) They let some second rate developer butcher the SOF series with a half assed, buggy, piece of shit sequel.

I can hardly wait to get this, but I'll probably wait until a price drop. It comes out in less than a month, and I still need to get a new video card.

Or maybe you only played the first 20 minutes?

Probably. In RTCW there were: zombies, ghosts, cyborgs, tesla weapons, a boss monster made from hundreds of corpses, etc.

Never been that crazy about Wolfenstein. Enemy Territory is fun though.

As for Raven Software, I'm anticipating Singularity more than anything.

Ill buy it but it looks like shit to be honest..

edit: nevermind, I misunderstood

I'm remaining cautiously optimistic. I hope it hasn't been half-assed under their other (now delayed) game.

Or maybe you only played the first 20 minutes?

Shit, I guess you're right. I think I completely stopped playing the single player after I got to a crypt or something, and played exclusively multi player from then on out on Return to Castle Wolfenstein. And all my memories are of Wolfenstein 3D are just of me killing nazi's, and not much else.

There were three separate campaigns. The first campaign (partly included in the shareware version) was all nazis and dogs if I remember right.

I would probably buy it, but I'm dirt poor and waiting for Fall.

GeneralVivi from Interlopers is working on this afaik. That is a good thing.

When I was a little kid I used to just sit in one room in Wolf3d whenever I knew there were nazi dogs around because they scared me so badly. Nazis themselves, piece of cake, but I was goddamn terrified of those dogs. Also the needle-throwing Nazi doktor (like a fatter TF2 medic) boss.

Hmm RTCW had online? I thought that Enemy territory was the online game.

They were both online. You could play against bots offline, but there was no campaign. I was severely disappointed. So I've been waiting for this for almost two decades.

looks like mediocre rubbish with the wolfenstein name on it :|

ET was a free multiplayer expansion. It was very good, but RTCW multiplayer was considerably better.

I probably won't play the single player portion of this game and demand great things of the multiplayer!

Video got me a bit more interested. Wasn't very hyped over it to begin with.

Must buy for me once I read the wiki and read that it would follow the footsteps of Enemy Territory in online terms.

not a single preview, video or screenshot showing multiplayer (that I know of) so close to release? this is the most anticipated feature for rtcw fans. this doesnt bode well for the game. I'll wait for the pc review. the single player doesnt interest me at all ..not since they cut out most of the open world aspects and made it more linear

It's Wolfenstein! The original game started in a prison and took place mostly in tight hallways! It doesn't have to be open world to be good. And it looked plenty open to me. Roof-top skirmishes and warehouses! It looks awesome. I hate you all!

I just bet this will be consolised a la fear 2 and all the pc guys will get pissed off.

well ya, the console version of RTCW was huge unpolished turd
