Are there any Armaments that aren't in HL2, that You think should be added?

i wish people would keep their ragdoll fantasies in their heads where they belong.

I am an American. I'm glad we make weapons like that.
What? Impractical weapons?
Nay, impractical FREUDIAN weapons...

I want crossbow! No, I would prefer a real bolt action sniper rifle

Dual pistols would be nice, but for Gordon, that would be hard. A pistol is actually heavier than a shotgun. Thats why in movies, you see a guy using two hands.

I'd love to know which pistols and shotguns you're talking about, because a shotgun weighs about 3-3.5kg on average, yet the two heaviest pistols - Taurus Raging Bull and the Desert Eagle both weigh around 1.75kg each.

Does Gordon have a knife? If not, he really should have one. :p

I mean, you got a crowbar and no knife?

A sci-fi game with no sci-fi weapons?

Crowbar's much better - beefier, more makeshift. Both bludgeons and cuts at the same time! 2 anger releases in one glorious object.

But as for the comment on sci-fi weapons? Good call. I really don't know why people are so geared up for this to have very realistic weapons... It's not as if it's a realistic games. Besides, all the sci-fi weapons can be very inventive, effective and fun to play about with.

Never! Gordon without a crowbar is like... a cheese sandwich without.. cheese.

crowbar is good because its original. Every other game out there has knives. And it gets boring. Although i like being sneaky and a crowbar aint exactly sneaky :p

Quite. I really don't see the appeal of a knife... Besides, it's a Half Life trademark. Anyone can have knives - CS has knives and we know you don't want it to be like CS...
If another game came along using a crowbar, we'd all scoff and look at it scornufully.
Anyway, maybe seeing as how well it served him in Black Mesa, he's developed a penchant for crowbars.

A knife is a poor weapon when you have a crowbar. You cant bend a locker open with a knife. You cant bash peoples heads in. You cant poke at someone beyond your finger+knife range (crowbar is like 10 times longer). You can cut yourself in the finger with it. A crowbar might give you a bruised foot, but not a cut off toe. And you use it in various ways to get around (leverage, put between two pipes and hold, slide down a rope). So much more a crowbar can do :)

I want to see more crowbars! Rubber crowbars! Pink crowbars! Furry crowbars! Straight crowbars! Double crowbars! And of course... The mini crowbar! (for bending up those nasty bottle caps)

If its a really big one, then yes it might serve as a weapon. If nothing else, you'll surprise the enemy :)

See the Grey City mod... Oh deary deary me.

Did you know on the NES they had a game were you actually went around beating people up with a dildo! I'm dead serious.

Why does everyone misquote me :(.... I said 'STUPID' meaning totally pointless enormo guns, like the BFG.... shudda been clearer though :p

what I think would be a nice touch is to include *sci-fi (not yet developed) weapons at a prototype stage. A thing like a railgun or gause gun ... that Gordan (or oher profs) can tweek as the game progresses. So you'd start off with this really shitty railgun stuck together with duck tape and screws, and end up with something more sci-fi looking.

I still think a harpoon launcher would be pretty cool

railgun would be cool indeed. A big flash, rippling air, and a massive hole clear through the enemy

so much for the 12 year old gun enthusiast...

there would be nothing left of your toe but a bloody stump if it got hit with a crowbar......

if you got hit in the foot/ankle ...it would shatter the bones pretty well.....

the disadvantage a crowbar has compared to a knife....would be initial attack speed ..and recovery speed before you can take another swing....not to mention it can throw you off balance.....

Ive taken plenty of swings with a crowbar.....(not at living things)...take my word for it........

HL fanatic, huh?

fact is, a crowbar is stylish. Thats what I like on Specialists 2.0 - they have katanas. Katanas are stylish, crowbars are stylish, knives are lame. everybody can cut somebody with a knive, but how many people can actually use a crowbar as a deadly wepon?

Crowbars and knives should do more damage than pistols in Half-Life 2 because, think of it, a bullet is very small and if you launched a knife/crowbar at the same speed, it would rip a guys balls off.

Titanium steel guns are the best. They're light-weight so I could hold 2 SMGs so Gordon should to.

I'd like to see you launching a crowbar at supersonicspeed...

Yeah, the speed of a bullet is really fast. There are certain snipers with a velocity so high that you don't even need to hit your target. You can shoot near his head and his dead (or almost if not).

So, if a sniper shoots the space between my fingers, that would actually make a cut?

A metal storm weapon firing at 1,000,000RPM, would look funny to literally obliterate something

About the crowbar, seeing as it is supposed to be a proper world object, does this mean that you could fall of a ledge and the crowbar would latch on?

Waitwaitwait, what is up with you? Earlier you claim that holding akimbo pistols would be too hard since "they're so heavy", yet you're all for holding akimbo SMG's, which are heavier than pistols? Riight.

I don't think that is possible, Gordon would have to use his muscles for that, it must be an intended action. But modders could probably do something similar

No. You said two normal pistols would be too hard to hold akimbo.

I thought it was something that made Titanium useless as a weapon, wasn't it something about heat?

Titanium guns-really light-weight

I don't get where you're going with this, I sincerely doubt a "titanium" (which aren't very common anyway) gun would be that much lighter than its normal counterpart, holding two "titanium" SMG's would still be an impossible job... and I'm not even going into recoil issues here.

What are you guys talking about? Arnold held two Assault rifles in the movie "Comando", and he was accurate as hell! :D
