Wow, when they said it was bare bones they weren't lying.
played the demo...it sucked...won't be buying
Stemot, let me say first off that I enjoyed the demo and I'm not an AVP hater. But the way you run around barking at every negative comment that comes into the thread like you're it's moderator definitely solidifies my profile of you as a hopeless fanboy of the game. Sometimes you just gotta let it slide, man. Easy.
The avatar was the other thing.
What's funny is, if it actually were that way you'd see this exact argument in reverse. "Why can't the marine stun an alien? Aliens are already faster than both classes; if they get in close you're already dead, what the fuck. You're going to tell me a marine couldn't use the butt of his rifle to hit an alien in the face? So I just have to accept dying if an alien gets too close? Nice balance, Rebellion."I dont like how the marine can stun.
If an alien gets in close you should be dead, end of story.
Played the multiplayer demo. Got in a game with just 1 other guy, i played as marine and he as predator. It was actually kinda fun, he would sneak up on me and attack me from behind, but he wouldnt kill me. He would instead run off and disappear. Whoever he was, he did a damn good job of scaring the shit out of me.
I dont like how the marine can stun. Its too overpowered...ala L4D. If an alien flies at you, I'd expect to be dead if I dont shoot it quick enough. Instead its like a rubbery-rebound shield. *boing!*, then just backpedal and shoot the crap out of it.
If an alien gets in close you should be dead, end of story.
Im sure theres a reason they put it in though, for balancing. Just cant see the reason so far.

Guess what? No dedicated servers after all. Gee, what a shocker.
you sure about? you're probably reading console reviews
Guess what? No dedicated servers after all.
Herp.Rebellion are busy preparing the dedicated server for the Aliens vs. Predator community.
The files will be available to download from the “Tools” tab in the Steam client and will be a free download.

7 is positive. 70 percent is a good score, man. It says, "There might be some flaws but they don't impact the game enough that you won't find enjoyment with it."
It would also seem that the number one complaint is the controls which leads me to believe that the people playing have never played an AVP game before or seen the movies.
