Peter Molyneux basically said they are going for a September 27 release (which will be tight but do-able) or the more likely candidate of October 14 (WOOT! How cool is having a game release on your birthday  )

They also said a demo will go out simultaneously/shortly before launch with you having a single level to flex your godly muscles.

Cool. I thought the first one was very charming but it failed to keep me coming back for more.

Same with me. If you've read the interviews with Peter he will discuss the game's major flaws (B&W 1 I mean) and when he tells them to you... You will start to see why the game wasn't as fun as it could be.

One example being that creature. To get it to learn meant you had to baby it. Some people liked to let the creature go overnight on their computers letting it grow and what not. The problem with the creature AI was that if you never punished it for what it was doing, it thought you approved (and when you aren't at the computer you can't punish it... So if the creatures eats some villagers and you don't do anything it thinks it is OK to do that)

I'm hoping B&W2 will be awesome... Hoping :)

OH WHAT A GLORIOUS DAY! OH GOOD WILL! OH JOY! OH THE ECSTASY!

God has NOT forgoten us my friends!

i thought there was a demo in this thread :(

Same. :(

Still, I'm greatly anticipating this. I loved B&W, despite its flaws. I've had my longest gaming marathon ever with that game. Great fun.

I just hope it doesn't become another Fable

Fable wasn't a bad game. It was quite good, actually. It just couldn't live up to all the expectations from both the fans and the developers themselves, and considering what they were attempting to accomplish, that's understandable.

Whoa there's going to actually be a demo for B&W2?!
Sweet!!!(insert 500 other exclamation marks here)

I absolutely loved the first one, Although having to baby your creature was a chore... Seeing a godzilla x5 sized cow wreaking havoc in a city... is worth it.

I can't wait to see how they've got the whole town management system down, Hopefully I won't have to constantly watch over them because if that happens and an army comes knocking at the door... I'll be totally unprepared.

i still dont understand why people dont like fable.

Because people would prefer to bitch and moan about the game not being the Second Coming of Christ, rather than accept it for the unique and enjoyable RPG that it is.

Fable was awesome.
Nice action, and story.
I loved the level of interaction, sure the game was short... But I loved every second of it.

There is a leaked version of the game out, that is kind of like a demo...

B&W... the most addicting game ever. I spent so much time slapping my creature across the map for eatting a villager... after he landed ontop of all the buildings.. I sat there, thinking... Shit. The coolest thing was the creatures of course, I spent days reading on the funniest things a creature has ever done. That was pretty good AI IMO, they don't rely on scripts. Well... you know, like Scripted Scenes. Of course they use scripts to some extent.

Games like this comming out this year make me wish I wasnt waiting till next year to upgrade.

I have been waiting for this game for nigh on two years now. Ever since I played the first one, I have been in love. I still play it at least once a month.

The reason I hate Fable is because it was supposed to be like Morrowind but ended up like KoToR.

a very bad version of KoToR you mean.

A demo is VERY good news. On the strength of 2 years of constant preview coverage and some stellar reviews, I got the game on the day of release. I've never been more disappointed in my life, and my friends were similarly disappointed. The ironic thing is that, all the brilliant ideas that the previews beamed about were about as fun as sticking your tongue in your CPU fan (actually, this may not actually hurt, but it sounds to me like it should :p).

The worst thing was that the magazine press gave it blanket awesome reviews. Many top rating, "best game ever" type reviews. Yet the game, for all its vision, was a tedious micro-management nightmare. I turned to the dark-side after about 30 hours of vain attempts to try and be a good god, and it's apparent how flawed the game was. Being good is a tedious, uphill struggle that requires far too much patience. Being evil is as simple as throwing the town's children into the nearest river, and even that became dull quickly. Hopefully B&W2 will be what the original could have been... and a demo will stop me wasting my hard-earned money finding that out.

That interview was a good read.

+10 to Excitement Level

excellent news - i was also hoping for a demo link in this thread but alas...i shall have to wait.

It was great, really. B&W. Can't wait for the sequal, yarr?

Any BW2 fans should visit #Lionhead at QNet if they wish to have a chat with some of the people working on BW2, or any other LH project, they're quite a nice bunch of people.:p
