I think that you should return to black Mesa, maybe by mistake a teleport takes you to the wrong place?

Spike said:i know Gman set that bomb to blow it all up BUT bits may survive? You should go back and meet those tentacle aliens again.
So you want to walk down half-destroyed, radioactive corridors which are pitch-black because they are underground and there is no elecricity and no ventalation?Kitfox said:If I recall Op4 correctly then the nuclear bomb was set off on the surface. Black Mesa goes down multiple levels underground. Some areas were bound to surivive.
Bob_Marley said:why is every one talking about ONE nuclear bomb? there were loads. all over the facility. remember that big red and white missile shaped thing on the train ride into black mesa? well it may have very well been a nuclear missile. everything in BM is dead, that was sort of the idea of setting off a nuke in a facility full of nukes and or thermo nukes. none of the areas of BM could have survived. in case you dont get my point i dont think going back to a raidoactive crater with a small sighn saying "black mesa research facility" is not a good idea.
It would probably set off one of the dozens of nuclear and other experimental reactors scattered around the place though. Not to mention gas lines and stockpiled explosives.UndeadScottsman said:Likewise, if a nuclear explosion hits another nuclear bomb; it just blows it up; it won't set off a chain reaction of nukes.
Spike said:Bullsquids DID eat the radioactive gloop. You see them eating it frequently, they can also regurgitate it to spit at you.
I don't think you realize quite what a nuclear blast does; A nuke isn't going to set off a nuclear reactor; it'll destroy it and spread any nuclear material that isn't vaporized out with the rest of the material that the nuke just made radioactive. If a blast is hot enough to destroy the casing surrounding nuclear material, it's going to make mincemeat of the material inside.Mechagodzilla said:It would probably set off one of the dozens of nuclear and other experimental reactors scattered around the place though. Eli: Here we are
HEV: Hazardous radiation levels detected
Eli: AHHHH, AHHHHH, AHHHHH!
Gordon: ................
HEV: You are dead, ha, ha, ha.
Kitfox said:Would you say the nuke has 55km spherical radius or circular radius. Plus the nuke was set off in a parking garage. Parking garages tend to be closer to the surface rather then deep underground.
actually that would be a f*cking awsome setting, as long as a few parts of the facility are still left.Angry Lawyer said:There's nothing left of Black Mesa but a huge, radioactive crater. Not the best of settings.

The reason Gearbox were allowed to blow the Mesa up is because Valve were confident they didn't want to revisit it. And explosions are damn cool.

Dr. Freeman said:sure, i have no doubt...but as a gamer, it would be very cool to return to some part of Black Mesa if for nothing else but nostaglia reasons.
