KA made a couple event notifications on steam via the halflife2.net group channel that popped up on everyone's computer saying something like "OMG, check out whats going on in the chat!"

And then within literally 15 seconds the chat was packed with 90+ people freaking out wondering what was going on and expecting some kind of Episode 3 news. You couldn't even read anything the chat was moving so fast. Then the mods locked it and KA got a yellin at from Glenn and Munro where everyone could see. Didn't seem like KA expected such a quick and massive response. Made me laugh pretty hard.

ACTUALLY the event was an "Important Meeting" and the notification was "important things are happening in chat" and then I locked the chat (it was me I did) and then Glenn and Munro and everyone in general was like WHAT THE **** MAN and then I was like **** MAN SORRY but yeah the rest of it is pretty correct

Anyone know who this fine fellow is? There's been so many people banned over the years, I can't really recall.
 
I assume the resident 'artist' would have been TDE, given how it seems he was banned a while ago?

sounds like he was talking about the Dark Elf? but that was long ago



my fave mass banning incident happened around Bodacious and the trolls he imported from Protest Warriors dot com. it even spilled over to their site where the majority chastised Bodacious for beign an idiot and using them as his own private army.
 
I do have vague memories of someone getting into a massive argument with some baron of the art forum - methinks either TDE or Crazyharij.
 
Oh, I remember someone in a big argument with Crazyharij over his art too. Don't remember if he got banned for that specific thing, but I could see it being something that lead to a ban.
 
Crazyharij was a photographer? didnt think he drew

it has to be TDE cuz his paintings were bright and colourful and looked like they belonged on the cover of a harliquin romance book
 
I dont know if he was a photographer, but he painted. I looked up all his threads and I didnt see the argument I recalled, so it must have been in a thread someone else started.
 
It wasn't TDE - the timescale doesn't fit (talking about the Wii) and I just checked his old threads for arguments and found nothing.
 
I think I found it. At least, this is the one I remember, and it seems Harij is banned while the guy arguing with him isnt. So maybe its not the same guy. Also, since when was Harij banned? I thought he was a pretty respected member here, and wasn't he even part of the staff at some point?

Ah, the "last post" incident. It was pretty hilarious. He was always alright, but one day he completely lost his cool with Farrowlesparrow over something Farrow never even said regarding drug use. It was really out of character - he was probably under the influence of illicit drugs at the time.

Everyone took offense to the way he was acting and expelled him from the forum, like anti-bodies would do to a foreign object.

Looks like we found our man - Glo-boy. Funny thing is, he's not banned.
 
It's weird though, he seemed to be a nice guy at the end of the thread. And before that he was trying to put the thread back on track and reconcile with Harij. To go and whine about all that stuff on SA and say that he was banned...and anyway he should've known he wasn't banned because the thread ended with him posting the dragon picture. So either he must've thought the ban came after, or...

Are we sure it's the same guy?
