the screenshot is from the G4 interview where the game crashed I think

the screen looks real ..the leaves on the floor look layered ..there's light passing through the palm leaves, smoke and debris everywhere ...wow, now that's next gen

just watched it - nice footage
as close to photorealism as never before, love the flame effects

bloody hell - that second video is incredible, much more worthwhile downloading

I'm not surprised...
Interactive slideshow time, I fear.

whoa, that grenade in the first video.. takes about 3 trees down, and owns that guy so bad.. amazing :O

Looks very, very nice but I've next to no interest in this game.

Looking good. The destructable foliage looks awesome and could provide fun gameplay, making barriers, being crushed by trees etc.

crazy, when the big mechspider thing does his lil roar, the fire is blown around from the wind :D

Very impressive, all of it!

...or just make a lumberjack-SIM with that engine...;)

I really hope they're more succesfull with selling this engine to other devs, because this engine looks soooooo good it's almost hard to believe imo..:p
Imagine playing a GTA-ish game(Perhaps sorta like Boiling Point, if anyone's played that) on this engine !!!

I think they should tone down the destruction of trees and whatnot though. A couple bullets wouldn't rip down a tree that looks like it's 6" in diameter.

Looks pretty, lets hope the gameplay is like Far Cry or better (not to mention I'd need a massive upgrade to see all the pretty effects, a 6800GT won't cut it by then).

While hard to hear because of backround noise or music in the videos I saw, the sound effects are on point too. You can hear branches and twigs snaping under-foot. :D

This game was crippling the demo machine at e3 though, like loosing lots of frames (looked like 19fps drops), and I imagine that the system they used to run it was the best available. :(

At least they are creating a game that will look like this for when the right hardware comes out. It's not the software's fault, not at all. Cryengine2 is an incredible game engine.

Politically In-correct part:
I want to blow a whole army of foreign language speakin mother****ers away (no offense foreign language speakers), and destroy the entire rain-forest single-handedly.

I hope this comes out for the 360 one day, since a new PC with hardware that will be able to run this game perfectly will cost me more than it costs to eat for a year.

I need MONEY.

Well, that looks pretty cool.

*throws the computer in the trash, because thats how much it's worth now. No more than trash. Yeah, thanks Crytek*

The DX9 vers of the engine is supposed to run incredibly well on high-end modern hardware according to CryTek, however, this was
afaik, non-DX10 HARDWARE running under some form of "emulated" DX10 mode, this was most likely what caused all the crashes and framerate drops.:)
And FYI, all other media shown so far has been DX9, and that has looked pretty daaaamn good too imo, so one with a high-end PC shouldn't worry too much..

This is looking really good, graphically.

However, I am not sure it is worth buying a a new PC over.

I'd have to learn more about the actual gameplay to decide, and hope that it's not just a prettier version of stuff done before.

**** that, I m saving money for my next upgrade starting 2moro :D :D

Yeah, next-gen graphics. What in the world is so next-gen about the gameplay I wonder? I don't want them to get caught up in how good a game can look if it plays like mowing your lawn....

...........

Holy Shit! Dude GFX arnt support to be that good till like 10 years from now...we are going to fast. Think of the e3 3 years from now..

Crikay that second trailer looks good. I've never heard of this before, but thinkibg back on the whole 'jungle + alien type things/spaceship' I remember picking up a PC Gamer/Zone in my local newsagents and having quite a long gander at the pictures.

EDIT: The ending part reminded me of War of the Worlds (the new one) with the walker coming through the flames like that. Fuppin' awesome looking stuff. Although the jungle fighting looked... well, there was alot of standing around and getting shot at, but still.

In all fairness though, the next-gen aspect of Crysis doesn't seem to be limited to visual polish alone. The degree of environmental interactivity, for example, is something that could prove a big leap in terms of gameplay.

In demonstrations they use GOD MODE, etc. Its not fun watching when they guy playing gets killed every 2 secs.

The second video looked amazing. I think this may actually be a good game rather than just a pretty one. It just looks so freaking awesome. Though i think i'll be running it in DX9 mode for quite some time i think. I don't really want to splash out for another PC.

jesus i got 3200kbs on that second video

edit: and christ those were sexy.

just like Microsoft stated, DX10 looks sharper and more detailed.

FOOK :D.

<3 Crysis

Ah, I see. But I'd prefer to see them doing tactics that would result in them having to think and use cover other than them just turn God mode on, run out into the open and shoot stuff. Although I guess the majority want to see more gung-ho style stuff so.. whatever.

Yeah makes me wonder who's he trying to convince.

Little self denial their? :)
