Oh, I'm not trying to pass judgement on all of us; but some of those freaks are there for the violence, not the game. Trying to initiate it; racist chants, hurling abuse and missiles... I hate them. I love "less ethical" European countries when they bash the hell out of them.

There's a difference between our traditional rowdy street parties and violent, property destroying riots.

Perhaps there are some there who want to cause violence, but the police of other countries which you called "les ethical" seems to have a bad attitude that because someone is English and they are being loud, it means they are a hooligan. Plus, how can anyone go on to slate the england football team. We practically beat France. It was only one poor back pass by Gerrard and a stupid foul by Heskey that lost the match. Apart from that they were great.

A bad result but we did play poorly in the second half (a draw would of been fairer result imho) I think mainly because Scholes dropped off the ball a bit after his Yellow card and Ericcson should of subbed him earlier on by Hargreaves or Wayne Bridge to strengthen the midfield. Still judging by the other match I can't see either the Swiss or Croatians stopping us from progressing to the next stages. Reminded me a lot of the Brazil - England match in the World cup, where the luck favoured the other team. Heskey will get a savaging by the press, but it was just a resultant of the pressure.

yeh Im English , but I dont feel the need to fly my flag all day, sport or no sport. the country really isnt that great, we overcharge and have some daft fuel prices always going up.

Patriotic about the country's football is fine, but I cant help but feel its more than just football that makes some people driven to put the flag up, wherever they are visible.

it seems im just trying to dodge patriotic hooligans come euro 2004, and im not even a hardcore footy fan, the area I live in is getting a little rough though

That game was beautiful up till 90+ mins. I mean think about it, France *are* the European Champions and we kept them under wraps for a whole game!

England did a fantastic job imo and Zidanes spawn at the end was just VERY unlucky for us.

If we play like we did in that match my guess is we'll see them in the final.

I was in the pub watching it and after them two goals it was wierd, glasses just started flying and the two bouncers on the door barged in.. ouch!
