Fallout 3 teaser next month, new concept art!

Didn't the first few outposts in Fallout 1/2 only have projectile-based weapons? I remember only ever finding the energy weapons much later on in the game.

True, but they were rarely modern weapons from RL (infact, in FO1 the only RL weapon was the Desert Eagle). I feel that putting in modern weapons from the current time might take away from the '50s feeling that FO has.

Ahh, I think I see what you mean. They should be going for the 50's futuristic fictional weapons that don't look entirely like modern-day firearms?

Yeah. Like the good old Winchester "City Killer" combat shotgun, H&K MP9 10mm SMG, AK-112 assault rifle, etc... ie real life companies, but fictional weapons. I think it worked really well in FO1.

While in FO2 they did have many more real life weapons, like G11, L86 LSW, Jackhammer, etc, etc... I did feel that these took a bit away from the '50s image of the game. Though some of the RL weapons really did fit, like the Tommy and grease guns.

I don't want to see more concept art, because I know the actual game will look nowhere near as good :(

And the last of the teaser images.

teaser trailer in 1 week. http://fallout.bethsoft.com/

Too bad I'm going to throw a hatchet at your face for ruining my dreams

Didnt fallout 2 play out in like 2100-something? I'd guess by the year 2100+ alot of 'modern'day weapons wouldn't be so well-maintained!:D

Fallout played out in an alternate universe, which diverged from ours in the 1950s. The Great War happened in 2077, so that' 120 years of development. As such, introduction of real life weapons is

M O R O N I C

Also, the concept art you speak of are not game's concept art, but "inspiration pieces created by an artist for Bethesda before they started work on Fallout 3.

Well, some stuff fits (like grease guns, tommy guns, M2 .50 MGs) but in the main, I'm in full agreement. Say no to RL weapons!

Only one more day, till fanboys the world over either loose the use of their bowels or begin to cry.

And god I can't wait.

We're not fanboys, we're fans.

If we were fanboys, we'd be collectivelly jerking off Pete Hines and Toad Hubbard. And we're not.

This is an official "Mikael Grizzly's smiley in a Fallout 3 done by Bethesda Softworks thread". Historical!

:D

I would say 'no' to most modern weaponry, but whos to say that certain individuals made it through those tough times. They may of made weapons of similar designs, but may work in a slightly different fasion

I don't have a problem with weapons that function similarly to modern-day weapons, but you have to remember that companies like H&K wouldn't exist in Fallout's universe, so no MP5, no USP, no G3, etc etc.

Heckler & Koch DOES exist. They manufactured the L30 prototype Gatling Laser AND the Heckler & Koch MP9 10mm SMG.

So there you have, the organisations themselves might exist, just have different employees

HOLY CRAP!

Best teaser ever! A picture of a loading screen. XD

Edit: and their forums go wild...

The Fallout forums are ****ing retarded.

People treat it like the Youtube comment sections.

So is that loading screen from the previous Fallout(s) supposed to be a teaser?

"The page cannot be displayed"

I'm guessing their putting teaser up now ;)

Isn't it like that everywhere? People treat the entire internet like the ****ing youtube comment sections.

DOWN-****ING-LOADING NOW!

I nearly strangled my brother.

No gameplay or story, just setting the atmos. Pretty damn bleak for a trailer though. :) It's in-game as well, and it looks :O Reminds me of Silent Hill
