Fallout: New Vegas just became a whole lot more awesome

If the guards had guns instead, they would've probably dealt less damage to me.
Also something I don't like, doesn't make any goddamn sense. I have the Realistic weapons damage mod along with sprint. So yeah, headshot, run away! I spit in their lack of projectile weaponry. Surprisingly easy to escape even with the people shooting at me outside though. I'm going to go back to finish them all off next time. I'll take a minigun for them punching faggits.

Did Caesar's quest up to the point where he asks me to kill Mr. House (which I will not do). I really want to see the NCR run the show still, so do I work with Mr. House and go to Camp McCarran for some NCR quests, or is it better to stop working with House and Legion all together?

LOL. I love that video very slightly more than the one in which aliens are punched to pieces.

Also I got my texture mods working, FINALLY, so that's awesome too.

Hehe, hilarious stuff. Also saw some cool stuff I didn't experience during my playthrough, like the
mobile Archimedes targeting device. Also some stuff with Benny which apparently happens if you decide to cooperate, which I didn't.

Also speaking of New Vegas silliness. One time I went to the NCR Embassy to talk to Crocker. He gave me a mission and as I step out of his office and make a few steps down the corridor, a NCR Military Police dude runs up to me and starts yelling stuff about me crossing the NCR and how that will not go unpunished. The conversation (monologue actually) ends and the NCR fellow attacks me. Boone opens fire on him and kills him. I turn to look at Boone and see Crocker bursting out of his office behind him, in this fleeing stance, running my way. As he's passing me, his head gets shot off by my companion. I look at Boon in disbelief of what the hell just happened and he just puts his rifle on his back and says "Got away".

Major wtf moment.

It's not a bad game unless you're a NMA aspie - just doesn't come close to the depth of 1/2 or even 3/NV

I'm still trying to figure out what exactly makes people insult NMA. What, people aren't entitled to having an opinion and defending it?

On topic, Fallout: Tactics is a good tactical game with some pretty great setting elements (e.g. fascist Brotherhood, Calculator, Reavers etc.) that, unfortunately, falls short of being a good Fallout spin off, not because of the story, gameplay or even graphics, but shitty writing. Really, a potentially great game really suffers from writing plagued with poop, fart and infantile sex jokes.

It even includes bed wetting "jokes". And they're not clever. They're not even funny.

I like Tactics, but I'd love to strangle the guy who wrote that bullshit.

That Wild Wild Wasteland video is brilliant. Clever and funny. My personal part is the "suckling teets" reaction. I was disturbed by it as well.

Also, shameless plug:

Brotherhood armour for New Vegas
High resolution RadAway minimod
High resolution Rad-X minimod

i got that gun 30 minutes before i beat the game :(

The Ultraluxe mission was so great.

Also, did anyone fine the Deathclaw promontory? It's unmarked on the map, due east of Lucky Jim's Mine(across the river). The best armour available in the game(afaik) is around there.

Thanks I'll have to check this out.

Finally finished the game yesterday. Took me 50 hours and there is still a lot to do. The amount of content in this game is staggering.

Yet it will never be enough once you've conquered it. The orgasm for this, as with FO3, must be continuous!

Got a question here bout companions,

I've got ED-E and Veronica

but I want to recruit Arcade Gannon or Rex, how do i do this?

Do I tell either of 'em to wait here or ask 'em to part ways?

You'll have to part ways, but I think you can always go back and recruit them again if you want to.

Why didn't you save during those 11 hours of gameplay?

I ask myself that same question. Dunno why I let the quicksaves do everything. My first game, I had 2 saves of and both were bugged with invisible walls and NPC's that were out of place. Didn't even bother using another save this time. Either way, its just not worth it anymore.

Maybe he was worried that he wouldn't have enough save slots, hes only got one thousand of them after all!

Does anyone know where the keys to get deeper into Vault 34? I swear I've scoured every inch of that place and have only come up with a few terminal passwords, but only two completely useless terminals.

Pretty sure my main storyline is ruined.
Caesar is dead, so is Mr. House, so are a lot of important NCR guys(apperantly needed for the storyline). I can't talk to Yes Man anymore either(only say 'goodbye').
Now I have 2 wild card quests open:
-Don't tread on the bear, which tells me the NCR won't work with me anymore if I keep working with Yes Man(but doesn't give any directions)
-Change in management, which is still marked as 'active' with no directions

Been doing a lot of side-quests, but nothing that seemed to get the main story going again.(by the way, I freed Benny from the Legion after killing all the guards)
Anything I can do other than starting over?

All may not be lost. Go to you saved game folder and look for the autosave.sav.bak, remove the .bak and you should be good.

Wouldn't be the first time I've had to point this out, I'm playing it on 360.

Commence console casual jokes.

Frosted, high-five, fellow 360er here!

Still haven't actually opened my copy though, will be playing Black Ops for a while, but when I'm done with that I'll be onto New Vegas!

I'll be getting my copy of Blops on Thursday, so I'll hit you up for some zombies or MP then. And just so you know, I changed my Gamertag.

Its is now AmbulanceOutlaw, should still be on your friends list though

Is this game worth getting for Christmas? Have any of the major bugs been sorted out yet? How long is it in comparison to Fallout 3?

Major bugs are still an issue for me. A big enough issue to make me trade the game in, so I'd say it's not worth getting. It is a bit longer then 3, with a much larger area though.

Edit: Though if you're getting it on PC, there are probably some mods to help rid the game of some bugs.

they haven't patched the game since release day. I've played the game virtually every day since release on 360 and haven't had it update. Annoying. There are alot of bugs. Console commands for PC can fix alot of bugs (like people disappearing etc)

Haven't completed the main game but have completed nearly 70 hours so far.

I've not experienced any game breaking bugs, and only had a couple of crashes. Think I've been lucky.

There is a big patch coming out soon. Was news about it on kotaku a few days back.

I'd say it's worth getting. I've had loads of fun with it, not completed the main story yet and at around 40 hours. There's a lot to do, well worth the money.

They have, actually, patched it twice already. Third one incoming. (for the PC version anyway)

what major bugs, people bitch about everything these days. it's my second playthrough (+20, first was +70), haven't seen any major bugs, except for lucky 38 bug.

Just because you haven't seem them doesn't mean they aren't there.

The game was definitely released in a bad state, as reported by so many people out there, especially the console versions.

PC version is pretty stable from what I've seen/heard. It was also patched twice already, so...
