Fallout: New Vegas just became a whole lot more awesome

That review does look pretty fake. No new screenshots, he took all of them from previews, and he could easily have written it based on said previews. Or he pirated a copy, because the review embargo doesn't lift until the 19th.

What's up with a review embargo? If the game was good wouldn't you want people to know it? It makes it seems like they are trying to hold off the reviews in case the game gets mediocre scores.

lol word
I consider FO3 to be the best worst game I've played in the last 3 years.
They give you all these options with the editor but the game crashes so easily with mods it's sad....

Fallout 3's review embargo was also lifted on the day of release. And if I'm not mistaken, Oblivion's too.

I've got like 4 on right now and I haven't had any.

I trust Obsidian though, Obsidian games have had far better dialogues and writing etc at least than Oblivion and Fallout 3 did.

True, and while it doesn't take much Alpha Protocol succeeded in providing a far better story than F3, so I trust Obsidian in this department more than I do Bethesda. At the very least though, I can tell that the VA is far superior to that in F3 (going by the recent VA dev diary).

I guess I was the only person to enjoy Alpha Protocol.

I have hopes for this game and I really want to see some positive reviews.

A fair amount of people in this forum did actually, me included.

It wasn't quite what I wanted it to be, but AP was decent.

Apart from plot inconsistencies with the original fallout titles, my main gripe with F3 was the awful animations the NPCs used.
And I find it hard to imagine an overhaul with vegas.
I will, of course, waste my cash on the game on release day anyway.

edit: and by 'waste' I mean play the game religiously for a week.

Nope, I did, haven't had time to finish it though, and for some reasons I couldn't enable subtitles on my XB360 PAL copy of the game, which pisses me off to no end.

I enjoyed AP as well.

You guys are my bros for this. I liked AP a lot, and will probably do another playthrough sometime in the near future.

I'm surprised AP was received so poorly given the opinions in this thread. I will have to try it myself when I find the spare time.

Meanwhile, 5 hours for NV steam release. I've set my alarm for 3:30 local time, screw the consequences.

DLC coming out during Christmas period, supposedly "360 exclusive", exactly the same as Fallout 3 back in 2008. However the PC is generally included in 360 exclusivity deals, so there's no need to worry about that. I'm very sure it's coming for the PC at the same time. PS3 users are out of luck however :S

Not that it matters, DLC sucks generally. Waste of money.

You're not supposed to be the Lone Wanderer or whatever you were called, from the first game, right?

No. You are a courier, and the events of Fallout 3 have no impact whatsoever on the story of New Vegas.

Nah, you're just a courier who gets his delivery interupted with a bullet to the face.

And now at 3:30 am, the time has been pushed back to 3 days and 8 hours.

FUUUUUUUUUUU

Valve does screw up these things often. Same happened for Borderlands, which was pushed back in some areas 30 minutes before release.

From Bethesda itself:

Hey guys wanted to share some info on when the game will be available to unlock on Steam, Direct2Drive, and Gamestop digital download.

On the 19th:

12:01 AM Pacific Time (PST) for North America, Central America, and South America.

On the 22nd

12:01 AM Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) for territories other than North America, Central America, and South America

14 hours away here. :S

damnnnnnn I don't know if I should buy the steam version then...might as well.

Doesn't this game have Steamworks? Because in that case it won't unlock, even though you buy it early somewhere. I had that with Just Cause 2.

Well I work for retailer that gives me a discount but I think the price would almost be the same on STEAM after taxes.....but then again I won't have a box to sit next to my FO3 GOTY box if I buy it on STEAM mhm....

God, tomorrow is going to be the longest school day of my life.

FU

char

In other words, I have to wait until Friday(That's when the game comes out here) and I think you are a terrible person of satan-like proportions for unintentionally reminding me that you Americans get it earlier.

haha me and everyone else on kotaku were thinking the same thing.lol

I totally agree with what Fahey wrote:

Chandler wouldn't last five seconds in New Vegas, let alone become the leader of a gang. He might end up skinned and made into a jacket for the leader of a gang, but that's as close as he'd get.

I wonder if she' actually involved with the game or she's just there because her agent thought it was good idea.

According to that article feautured next to it, NV's first DLC is Xbox Exclusive. Of course, i just woke up ten minutes ago, so maybe I'm wrong.
Also, found this link on another site: http://twitter.com/DanielVavra "Hated the story and quests of Fallout 3. Love the story and quests of New Vegas." Atta boy.

With her involvement in Scott Pilgrim I'm guessing shes trying to build nerd-cred.

One of my many problems with Twilight was how anyone could go for Kristen Stewart when Anna Kendrick was RIGHT THERE!

See my post. Most likely it's coming for PC too, as Fallout 3'd DLC did.

Ah I forgot about that, I apologize for the redundancy. I read something about "timed exclusivity" for the DLC, but even putting that info aside yes I expect it to hit the PC as well if F3 is any indication as you noted.

I'll be playing it on the 360 first though, and while I'm not happy about it it'll tide me over.
