Games that everyone loved, and you didn't.

Give me examples, all i found was i could rob people then get arrested, or try and kill them but they dont die

So you didn't do ANY of the quests for ANY of the guilds, or take time to actually explore?

Cause that may be your problem then!

haha, I tried dude....i was told that the actual story is less fun than just running around doing stuff......

*Shrug* To each his own, I guess, but I found a lot of quests in the game (see: all of the Dark Brotherhood quests) to be a huge crapload of fun.

maybe ill give it another chance......

WoW--in fact, pretty much any RPG that's come out after 2000, with the exception of KOTOR, which I liked simply because it was Star Wars.

Not the game itself, but why, WHY do people STILL play CS 1.6 seriously. It boggles teh minds.

- Deus Ex series
- WoW + any mmorpg (this includes sw galaxies, flaming hunk of shit)
- Halo 2 (1 was decent, 2 was the same game with a gimmick... it works on the console idiots, not on pc gamers)
- Painkiller
- Doom 3 (why did magazines rate this so high?)
- Quake series
- The Magic Schoolbus Explores The Universe
- CS 1.6
- BF: Vietnam
- Simcity 4
- Jedi Academy (everything prior in the jedi knight series was fantastic)
- Civ series
- Sims series (how many expansions are there now? 18?)
- Mechwarrior series
- America's Army
- Tribes Vengeance (TRIBES WAS THE BEST GAME EVER. VENGEANCE TAINTED IT)

The Halo Series.

Fun, but ot the be all end all like everyone makes them out to be. Halo 1 was tons of fun when i first got an Xbox. The multiplayer was great fun. Halo 2 was 3 years of waiting to play what felt like an expansion due to its length and shitty shitty storyline that pretty much had 3 levels of something new and then back to the Halo's you spent the entire game on in the first one. So i guess my beef is mostly with Halo 2, but its not like the series has really made that big an impact on the FPS genre as everyone claims it has. No really, i can't think of how it has.

The Metal Gear Solid Series
Played all of them, only took the time to beat one of them. Bad games. No really, bad games. How exactly do you want me to sneak around, when i can't see more than 5 metres infront of me and the AI can? That got really annoying in Snake Eater. Also the storylines suck, and how they are told sucks. How can spend so much trying to immerse a gamer and then expect them to get the message that "Nukes are bad mmmkay" and then come along and remind them they're just playing a game with stupid sentences "There will be no continues, it will be a game over". What the ****. And Kojima needs to pull his head out of his ass. He's a shit "director" too.

Ok thats it. I can't be bothered writing anymore otherwise i'm just gonna go on rambling and grumbling and eventually i'll end up trolling this thread somehow.

Fallout
Maybe I just have a problem with RPG's in general. I admit I stayed up 'til 4 or 5 AM playing Fallout, but then one day I just got kinda frustrated and killed off the entire population of Junktown, and after that I never felt like playing anymore.

No One Lives Forever 2
I can see why people would like this game, but I stopped at the beginning when you had to fight the ninjas. I get impatient with games that want you to sneak around undetected.

Half-Life 1/2
Actually I do love these games, but they're just hard to replay. I'll play until either the "On a Rail" part, or the part where you have to send up the rocket or satellite, and then get kind of bored in there. So, I've played the beginning many times but only finished the whole game once. The same thing happens with HL2. After the second time through, I tend to stop right after Ravenholm when I try to play again.

Sim City
My least favorite edutainment game.

Civilization 2
I'm not a big fan of turn-based strategy. When I played it, it was me and the Vikings left, at peace, and I had built a spaceship with 100% probability of success, so I launched it for Alpha Centauri and waited... and waited some more... and nothing happened. I haven't gotten around to playing it since then.

I still like all the old-school shooters though, but it's probably because I played all of them back when they were new. Ahh, nostalgia.

I forgot to add Metal Gear Solid. Even before I played it I was biased, the name is so stupid, even by Japanese naming standards. It got worse from there.

halo
halo 2

mostly for their "amazing" concept, which if you ask me is blatant rip-off-age of Larry Nivens Ringworld books. (and yes i realize he didn't come up with the idea for that type of spaceship/colony-world)

Anything Final Fantasy
World Of WarCraft
Any Sport Games

WoW (10 minutes in, and it's just grind, grind, grind)
Halo 1+2
Splinter Cell (How can I take Sam Fisher seriously if he looks like a ****ing gorilla? No, seriously, he looks like a gorilla)

Splinter Cell
Riddick
NFS (The new ghetto ones)
Sims
Final Fantasy series
Zelda Series
KOTOR
Morrowind

Halo
Mafia
WoW
Command and Conquer
Call of Duty
KOTOR 1
Zelda
Metal Gear Solid (fun but stupid)

You CAN'T...just CAN'T hate Starcraft! :(

Starcraft
Diablo
BLAH.. any of those RTS shiznits.

QFMT.
Kojima's ego and his goddamned lackluster and crappy writing skills really begin to grate after a while. Seriously, people, the man cannot write. Do people talk like that? Do people really talk like that? No. No they don't.

Do people talk like Buck Turgidson in Dr.Strangelove in that kind of situation, do people talk like Bruce Willis in Die Hard in that kind of situation, do people talk like Hamlet in his situation. No, but it fits the world and the storyline.

You are not a ballerina girly boy witth prostate problems and and abusive father in MGS. You are a freaking one man army, you are supposed to have the voice of Barry White and have a sense of humor whne your about to die in a horrible horrible way. MGS's dialoge is good and fits the game just as much as "Rain or shine you're going down" or whatever fits RE4.

"Snake it's a guy with a gun!"
"A guy with a gun?"
"Yes! He's going to shoot you!"
"He's going to shoot me?"
"RUN FFS!"
"Run FFS?"
"Stop repeating everything I say in the form of a question!"
"Stop repeating everything you say in the form of a question?"

Zelda: A pansy's game.
Lol. Good reason :p

Me? I could do away with every Blizzard title, save Rock 'n' Roll Racing and Blackthorne (and perhaps Lost Vikings). I can do away with the whole "dwarves and elves and sh*t" thing.

I can't understand not liking Starcraft.

I can understand not liking StarCraft. I mean, it's one of my favorite games ever, but yeah, I can see why people like Red Alert better.

the Zelda series on the other hand...:flame:

I don't know if anyone likes Max Payne in here but I hate it! There is to much story telling in the game. *I was walking in the rain. It was a cold rain* OMG STFU!

F.E.A.R I simply can't understand why everyone liked it :O

I don't know if anyone likes Max Payne in here but I hate it! There is to much story telling in the game. *I was walking in the rain. It was a cold rain* OMG STFU!

Thats why we love it and you hate it!

How could I forget?

FEAR.
An average, run of the mill shooter with Doom 3 syndrome. What is to love about it?

I like Max Payne so STFU:cheese: . If you feel that way about story telling, then i wonder how you feel about HL.

PS: I like FEAR too

I think most people agree FEAR kinda sucked.

Did anyone like Prey? I sure didn't.

FEAR was awesome. Sure, the levels got a bit repetitive, but everything else was ace.

Please don't compare FEAR with that shit Doom 3.

BTW Samon what games do you like other than the Half Life series of course?

What was better in FEAR than Doom 3? Both of them were shitty.

Ohh, lots. But I'm not going to list them all because it'd be rather ridiculous. Well, I thought both Doom 3 and FEAR were shit, so the comparison is there.

Well now gee I don't know maybe the spectacular fights with sparks and debris flying everywhere. The combat in Doom 3 was straight out of the stone age plus I hated the damn dark graphics, every game based on the Doom 3 engine seems to have this problem. The only thing I didn't like in FEAR was the level design. The levels were just too empty and repetitive.

See that is the strange thing. I do not have a problem with HL! I think it is just the way Max Payne tells the stories that gets on my nerves I don't know. :bonce:
